The most interesting racecourse action, of the morrow, must be the Lieutenant taking 13 horses to Kempton Park for a ‘pre Festival workout’. It’s planned that the racecourse gallops will commence at 10.30 am. So it'll be an early night for the forum's favourite trainer with his pre-bedtime GnT served no later than 9 pm. Buveur D'Air, Might Bite and Theinval worked after racing, at the course, on Saturday and tomorrow it is planned to given spins to Apple's Shakira, Brain Power, Burbank, Days Of Heaven, Kilcrea Vale, Thomas Campbell, L'Ami Serge, Style De Garde, O O Seven, Fixe Le Kap, On The Blind Side, My Tent Or Yours and Gallahers Cross. None of them could be in better hands. Or should I say better 'magic hands'.
4 15 Chelmsford - Fethiye Boy 8/1, back after a break goes well fresh, new trainer, had a wind op too since last run, down in class. Should go close
Beef Stew and Dumplings. Ideal in this weather, troops. 9/10. Anyone heard how the Lieutenant’s workout (well not his personally more the gee-gees) went at Kempers Park this morning??? Bit of support for Burbank in the ‘Coral Cup’ but overall very little movement re his charges. Am looking forward to seeing, incidentally, how many entries he makes re Friday and Saturday’s ‘bumpers for jumpers’ heats (best not, by the way, to get that the wrong way round otherwise you’ll have a lot of knitting to do!). It’s what the breed was bred for afterall and is the forum’s favourite racetype.
While I’m on, by the way, the dear old regular readers (and even the uncouth unregular readers) might have noticed that my visits to the forum have been somewhat sporadic these past 6 weeks or so. That is because we are in the process of moving to (drum roll please - who is going to be the lucky region or county)…South Wales so haven’t had much spare time. I won’t say exactly where as it will be fairly obvious, to some, where I’ll be working and then half the forum will turn up with blazing torches and the other half wanting feeding at the ‘top table’ (cor blimey I hope they’ve got one, incidentally. Don’t want to be chomping with the hoi polloi). Don’t start work there until the Monday after the Summer Half Term though so it’s not immediate anyway. Hopefully, when everything settles down, will be on the forum a lot more regularly again. There’s lovely!
Apples Shakira worked with Santini and Thomas Campbell Burbank with Brain Power and Days Of Heaven MTOY with Lami Serge That is about it.......not much help huh
Apples Shikara has drifted in places I see. But the Lieutenant’s biggest drifter, right now, is Might Bite. 4 firms have eased him and William Hill now the standout at 9/2 (from 3/1). Begs the question ‘what do they know???’.
I thought for a minute you were going to mention "The Beast From The East" Thumbs down to whoever coined that phrase
Who Nigel from Norwich?!? Similarly, I can’t believe that the associated storm of doom has been monikered ‘Emma’. How outrageous. Emma is a lovely name. To answer my own Hendo ‘jumpers for bumpers’ ponderings. I see he’s stuck 2 in re Southwell Sands on Friday. Barber Shops little half-bro, Maestro Royal, and the mare, Kupatana. She cost a small fortune but was ultimately disappointing at Newbury, in Jan, on her hurdles bow. You would have to expect both to go very close should the great man ant, sorry dec, them.
