I've got a feeling that this will be rather less spectacular then it comes across in the statement.....i hope I'm wrong

So you go to the trouble of buying a whistle, practice blowing it for a week, only to be told the protest will last for just 1 minute. That's not on. At least have another go at it, say after the final official whistle - assuming there's anyone still there.

it should honestly be everytime sheff utd have the ball

a 1 min whistle spree and fans turning backs for 30 seconds would be absolutely embarrassing

I think the call to limit it to the 30th minute is a bit naiive and will never happen. I don't like criticising people behind stuff like this because it is hard work and people always have their own ideas while only a small section are responsible for planning. But that said, I think this whole whistle thing has got a bit silly. The fact that it's all expected and communicated in advance kind of makes it a bit weaker for me. The stress balls were spontaneous on the night. All the discussion about the whistle protest will probably make it have less of an effect when it happens, but more importantly I think the supporters who don't like it will be more vocal than ever about it, because they've been stewing it over all week and have already made up their minds that they don't want it. It's embarrassing when you get some people protesting and others booing the protests. Really hate it when that happens. That first time against West Ham in the PL when they booed the singing, I remember I found myself not even caring about the rest of the game, just felt really deflated by City fans doing that.

Although they appear to be completely mental at times going by their tweets, I think the 'Hull City Protesters Group' have got it right on this one: keep it quiet and just do your thing on the night.

Another option after using the whistle would be to remove the pea, roll up a programme and hey presto !

You have an instant pea shooter armed and ready to go.

Thought the whole point of a whistle protest was to cause confusion , when ever there was a coming together in the air, wen a player was going through on goal etc, one minute? What's the point, that is worse then cards, going to be a right anti climax tomorrow

30 seconds of whistling at a specified time would be do more harm than good, would be truly embarrassing for a 'protest'

I agree PLT , hopefully people have got other things planned , you don't tell the club etc. what you are going to do in advance

I've always said the whistle thing is a bit stupid

    Don’t agree
Whilst I despise the Blunts the protest isn’t against them so why only use whistles when they have the ball. That would pathetic IMHO

Maybe should be blown all game non stop, apart from the 30th minute for everyone to get their breath back and establish who is going to the bar at half time ?

I think they were the ones behind the stress balls, rather than the action for change group. I think they've come across really daft at times, but to be completely honest, when they say they're protesting I'm taking notice. I expect it'll be something we've not considered and it'll be more significant than the whistles.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens, the anticipation will be exciting.

Maybe the Allams should sell tickets for it.

I’m not arguing for a minute of whistling...I’m saying that just doing it when they have the ball looks pathetic, and it makes you look like you’re trying to do it to put off their team instead of what it is actually about.

Completely agree with the bold bit.

I don't think anyone deliberately told the club about the whistles. The club said it was intelligence so either they found out somehow or they made it up and it really is just being pushed now in response to Ehab's statement. Not sure I believe that though.

The lads shut down the messenger group, as they believed someone was passing the info on to the club.
