Good result for you last night and needed from what I have been watching. Fleetwood have simply gone to rats which just shows how quickly you can go downwards as well as up. Serious question though. Do you really think Pompey are consistent enough at the minute to challenge just ignoring current league position? If you want consistency then we are up there with the leading contenders. If, and that is a great big if, the consistency continues then we would be odds on to finish in the top 6 somewhere. But, I know only too well that it can end as quickly as it starts so I would never presume anything at this stage no matter how good it looked. My pessimistic view of things in league one is that there will be one club that starts a consistent run now and will disappoint a number who have been up there or flirting with promotion/play off positions. Clubs like mine who are well into their run could be the one to come unstuck ultimately because we peeked too soon.

With a bit of luck, that will be us then - just like we did end of last season. Remember?! :1980_boogie_down: <laugh>

470 Pompey fans made the 9 hour round trip last night, out of a total attendance of 2,561.

From the Express FM commentary I heard, it was Pompey chants for the whole 94 minutes - brilliant support !

And an awful lot of luck you will need as well Wooperts. Just like last season..............

The bottom line is you need consistency to start now and up to now it hasn't been there has it. Nothing to say it won't be you though.

Last season's run in was based on us winning virtually every match, and Argyle and Doncaster "bottling it" on the last day. Happy days, eh? <party>

I'm not unhappy though. Promotion was the prize so job done. We don't need a cup to polish every other week. If we ever won one we would have to buy a cabinet to put it in and our Chairman would hate to have to spend that kind of money now that MFI have gone. Your need was greater so we let you past. Well, that's my reasoning anyhow after denying you Wembley.

Are you going to have a matchday thread this week or is the idea too painful? I missed the thread a couple of weeks ago and can't imagine why it didn't happen..............
