We've climbed to the summit panting, delirious, but now we're sliding down the other side on our arses; yes, we've been here before!
If Newcastle suddenly offer him a contract and the deal doesn't go through there should be some way of being recompensed for all the trouble Pardew the Plank has caused.
agree the longer this goes on the less chance he will sign for us. Really feel sorry for team QPR who have 'pushed the boat out'. They really have been top notch with Prices/money/deals. If this falls through then i won't blame them as they have gone about this the right way. Joey Barton really needs to take a good look at himself because if this a cheap stunt to get a bigger club/better deal at Newcastle then i would rather not have him at QPR. We are trying to build something special and i only want people who are commited to it. If he wants to come to QPR then he needs to give us an answer later today and not mess us about.
Come on Dave needs the money! @davidmcintyre76 David McIntyre Come on Barton I'll have a decent bit in at least one of tomorrow's papers if you sign today. Now get on with it. =========================================================
It will be whatever it will be .. He is here after being approached by us NW and needed to look around ... regardless of NUFC ****ting on him and a bit of vice versa He has to make sure this will work. Two days ago we were none the wiser and still thinking about Rochdale FFS ... If he comes Frank Spenser (Keiron Dyer) may trip over him in the staff canteen and break both their feet. He is leaving a massive club with the best support in the UK by far most of which like him ... he is human afterall and what he has said so far on record is afterall what you would expect from him black and white no nonsense truth. His manner in the car could easily been explained to a badly inserted tampon
Joey Barton's imminent switch to QPR was made easier after a chat with the club's new owner Tony Fernandes confirmed the club will be strengthening the team with more new signings before the end of the transfer window. Barton's agent Willie McKay said QPR had been chasing the 28-year-old since gaining promotion into the Premier League and had long been an admirer of his talents. But he revealed it was a chat between Barton, chief executive Phil Beard and Fernandes that eased the Newcastle free-agent's fears he could be joining a relegation-threatened side. And it seems the promise of more big names - and the ambition of Fernandes - made for an offer he couldn't refuse. 'Joey spoke to Phil Beard and Tony Fernandes via phone and liked what he had to say - I am sure there are going to be a few more signings for Queens Park Rangers,' McKay said. 'Obviously it is a big wrench for Joey [to leave Newcastle] as he loved it up there and obviously he will miss all the supporters and all his team-mates. 'But time moves on - Newcastle have got their plans and Joey has got his. 'Joey is very confident he can do very, very well for Queens Park Rangers, and I think he is a top signing for them.' R's manager Neil Warnock admitted he has been keen on the Magpies renegade since he was at Sheffield United. But he said it took a club like QPR, and an owner like Fernandes, whose spending power is so great, to lure Barton to his club. 'I think we're lucky to be looking at a player like that,' Warnock said. 'It shows how ambitious the chairman is. He listened to the players I would like to bring in and Joey was one of them. 'We've just got down the line and we hope to bring in another four or five before next Wednesday night.' Bar any hitches in the deal, Barton's paperwork is expected to be completed in time for him to make his debut for the club when they tackle Wigan on Saturday. Cheer up fellas it's a certainty to go through Re the interview, the way i see it, it's only his contract with Newcastle that needs to be sorted. Because they are willing to let him leave on a free doesn't mean the same as being a free agent. Lots of details that need to get done and dusted. His emotions and the way he acts and sound (in both the interview and on twitter) are only political correctness towards the geordies, and who can blame him? He will have plenty of time to endear himself to us R's later.
Got a strong feeling it'll all collapse, so he can further ingratiate himself with the Toon army. If he decides to stay at Newcastle after this, the fans will worship him even more. Clever.
Where is Swords? Where is Cerny? far more interesting than Joey ... Maybe Tinker Tailor Soldier Cerny has crossed the waters with a poisoned umbrella?
