Official "Team Of" League (2010)

So, I got around to setting up all the clone teams in FM2010 and the league is raring to go (I'll start taking screen shots in the future- didn't today due to time constraints)

I set it to vacation- to start up right before the first match of the league- since everyone plays at Anfield it is a bit of a pain- only one game a day.

Almost immediately Gerrard and Carragher ran into trouble (all teams had £0) having to sell off a number of their clones.

Meanwhile Real Mad Skrtel are also having trouble with a 5th Martin Skrtel clone getting injured in the preseason. Picking up a facial injury during a collision with Martin Skrtel. They only have about 15 Skrtel Clones left.

The knock out cup has begun. (I missed the first game forgot to check for it when going on vacation before league began). Gerrard has knocked Carragher out in the first knockout round in a 1-2 thriller. Carragher had a goal denied that would have evened the score in the 81st minute.

Tomorrow I will try and bring you cup action as Lucaspool take on injury ravaged Real Mad Skrtel. I'll try and actually watch the game to see how it goes.

Any predictions on the outcome of that clash? Who does everyone want to win the league?

I think knowing you you've either made lucaspool the best team or maybe elzhar, someone no-one will expect... in fact i'm kind of suprised n'gog hasn't his own team just to kill me.

The only player I adjusted was Biscan because they had him ludicrously low. I only changed his mentality at that- not physical or tactical stats. This is 100% fair by the 2010 database (version 3 update). I have not cheated in this.

No, some people here in town claimed they did but I didn't- I think we're right on the edge of where some people felt it. The people that did feel it here said they barely felt it. Any damage? I haven't felt an earthquake since leaving England- we had a couple in the early 80's a barely remember.

Yup- a team of 2010 Gerrards are apparantly better than a team of 2010 Carraghers (at least in a one-off cup) if this is anything to go by... So you COULD read the match report? Shame it won't get any bigger (yes, that's what she said). Should be interesting over a whole season though- Carraghers had that one goal controversially disallowed- so it could have been a draw. Gerrard's were up 2-0 at half time. Carraghers must have been the better team in the 2nd half. Unfortunately I set my vacation too long by a day so I didn't actually witness the game in person.

The "Liverpool Soccer Free Press" blasts Martin Skrtel for playing Martin Skrtel in goal.

First half kicked off and for the first 20 minutes it is all Lucas. It is no surprise when Lucas scores the first goal of the game. The remainder of the half Skrtel seems to be coming back into it- Skrtel seems to be better at keeping the ball even if their movement takes longer to reach the other end. Skrtel's possession eventually pays off and the are rewarded by an equaliser late in the half.

Second half starts and once again Lucas seems full of gusto- but Lucaspool keep losing possession, whereas Real Mad Skrtel slowly bring the ball forwards and are eventually rewarded by a goal.

Aftel Skrtel scored the 2nd goal- Lucaspool tried valiently to get back into the match and were easily the dominant force for the last 20 minutes. Alas for them, they couldn't target the ball on goal and thus are knocked out of the cup.

Next up- the first league game of the season (I won't post everyone's full match report as that would get tedious... but I'll do every team's first games).

Inter Kuyt host El Zhar FU at Anfield... should be a classic- and I'm predicting more than a few goals for Kuyt.

I have to support Real Mad Skrtel, if only for the name.

I asked. I wanted to see last season's Ngog vs last season's Torres.

 

Sorry... I wanted just a small team list first as a sample to see if this would work. I figured I'd get a list of players who were relevant to both seasons... I know El Zhar went- but I wanted someone useless to put in. 8 Was a good number because it made it easier setting up the cup.

I'll double the teams for next season and make sure N'grasshoppers are in it. I didn't think Torres would be a popular choice with most people so I left him off... but if the request is out there I'll also add him. Arsenando it is then.

So it is time for the League opener to be played at Anfield between:

I forgot to look at the bookies odds before the game... darn me.

The game starts off- and, as I would expect Kuyt immediately dominates- (as seen from this chart immediately taken as the first goal went in). But it is El Zhar on a counter attack that stuns Kuyt claiming the first goal.

Less than 4 minutes later and Kuyt is back on level terms... it is a beautiful high looping ball from Kuyt crossed in from the edge of the box and headed in by Kuyt. (Kuyt clones look visibly taller than El Zhar clones- is El Zhar short?)

Kuyt goes ahead in the 29th minute another cross from the left- this time met by the foot of Kuyt and powered into the box. The El Zhar clone playing right back is having a mare. Again in the 39th minute a cross from the left is powered home by a Kuyt clone waiting in the box.

El Zhar look completely bereft of confidence for the remainder of the half and Kuyt almost scores several more times. The halftime whistle is welcomed by El Zhar. Some brilliant possession football by Kuyt- very pass and move stuff. The assistant coaches feedback is pretty damning for El Zhar.

Doesn't take long for Kuyt to increase the scoreline. They're now bypassing the crosses and heading right through the centre.

In the 50th minute Kuyt gets a straight red for a nasty tackle right outside the box... chance for El Zhar. But wasted... 10 man Kuyt waste no time getting it up the other end of the field and getting yet another goal. This isn't a game- it's a massacre... 10 man Kuyt score time and time again. 5 Kuyt clones get to score before the game is over. A 10-1 victory for a team that played most of the 2nd half with 10 men. Amazing.
