Can't agree with them hoping that everyone will forget I.T., there's too much at stake, and when the FA do release a statement the eagerly waiting hacks will be all over it like a rash.
If Firmino is found guilty by them he'll be hung out to dry by everyone and our clubs name will again be in the dirt.
If it's decided Holgate was mistaken about what he thought he heard I think he'll get a retro ban for the push and nothing else, they will struggle to prove he lied(if he did that is)because only he knows and it's highly unlikely he'd own up to it knowing the consequences.
If you're correct and they nonchalantly just release a statement saying there's no case to answer and that's the end of the matter i'd expect both clubs and both players to put complaints in and maybe the PFA, the length of time is a disgrace if there's no case to answer.

Which makes me think one of them has got a case to answer and that's the reason for the hold up, Firmino hasn't looked worried but Holgate was dropped by Everton, maybe one of their lads has a better idea why, but there's something not right when it's 6 weeks ffs.

For me the interesting thing is the ref gave his account very early on didn’t he ?
