NDS, I like the nautical slant, noticed a few of them last night. I think Sea Wall might surprise on his return to the bigger obstacles. 6/1 when I last looked.
You could have Mick jazz and some neck in a double. No malice meant btw Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Presenting Percy and Mal Dini. They’ll be having it off today on the doubles and paying for their week at Cheltenham.
Wincanton 2.45pm Ch'tibello 13/8 win Second in this race last year so handles the track. Finished pretty close behind My Tent or Yours in the international hurdle after 10 months out then involved in a bobbing head finish against the new one in a bog up at Haydock . I think he will be cherry ripe for this and I see him running a big race before entering the champion hurdle picture...not convinced about call me lord so he s my selection.
Theos Charm 3.50 Haydock 9/1 Silsol 3.15 Haydock 9/1 Waiting Paitiently, Black Corton and Agrapart for a treble. Got 9.5 for the treble last night, but might get a drift or two! Oddy, I know you have a soft spot for Theo, any thoughts?
Hello, team. Nothing for me today but there is actually an amusing little anecdote re that mares bumper, ‘the lucky last’, at Ascot today. Lieutenant Henderson at the entry stage on Monday put in the 6YO mare Big Robin – perhaps, not a lovely name for a mare. However, what he failed to recall was that in March ’17 he actually ran the old girl over hurdles! The entry was thus returned stamped ‘nq’ (not qualified). I’m sure this wasn’t the great man’s fault though. No, no, no, no, no. I attached blame to either (i) the steward who forgot to put the T in his mid-morn GnT on Monday, or (ii) the ‘junior grade’ put in charge of making the entries in the Lieutenant’s absence. Re Big Robin she will, most likely, run in another hurdle race on either Tuesday or Thursday. Good luck, crew,
BD looks like he is going to Kempton on Wednesday eve, incidentally, as Mitch Goodwin has been booked. Wish he was going handicap hurdling but hey-ho.
I think they could actually be trying to win today Mick, rather than just qualify for the final. I have picked him e/w in the comp, should go close I reckon
Although not a betting proposition today (will hate the ground and Nicholls says he will definitely need the run) I am both intrigued and excited to see Cliffs Of Dover back at Wincanton. Clearly today will be just about getting a run into him but I think he could be a bit of a dark horse for the big spring hurdle races. Hopefully he gets a good run out and a clear round today.
Or a dark horse perhaps re a Flat campaign. Prior to his injury they were talking about this for the old boy re the summer of ’17. A year on and that could still be the plan. Given what Cliffs of Dover has achieved over timber since his last run on the level (June 2016) a perch of just 64 could be highly, highly exploitable.
Ascot Chase - Waiting Patiently at anything above 2/1 is a bombs away price. This race is perfect for him. Ground ideal. Trip spot on. Speredek runs off in front setting a lovely race for him to aim at. Hughes will ride him like the best horse in the race and take it up 2 out and walk off with the win. Top Notch is beating nothing. Hate his price. Cue Card is gone. Traffic Fluide couldn't win this race when in decent form. No way it wins today. Frodon has Bryony on his back but no claim. You just can't countenance a win for that one. Coney Island comes from Ireland and is trained by a guy that's only still training because JP is throwing the guy a bone. Has had one winner all season (this horse). This is clearly not the target and i think this trainer can only win a race at the moment if everything falls into place and it's been trained to the minute. This will be Waiting Patiently all day long. Generally 9/4. 5/2 if you can get decent stakes on with Ladbrokes. Bombs away.
Mal Dini NR. Not sure they're having particularly good prep with that horse this season with Cheltenham in mind.
Lets get the day off to a spiffing start with : Feel the Vibes 12.40 Lingfield. 12/1 Nice run after a break lto and dropped another 2lb for its troubles. Looks a tempting e/way bet to me...so here goes!! Good luck fella's!
