The statement made by the club to the Hull Daily Mail makes no mention of the document distribution and lays the blame squarely on the article from the day before. It is not unreasonable to conclude that they set off for the meeting with the intention of cancelling on arrival. Their motivation for staying on after the cancellation is irrelevant.
Funny I saw stewards demanding to check tickets loads of times in N4 and N5 Especially coming of the concorse I never saw ANYONE get lobbed out for having a concession when they were infact an adult
" However, we wanted the decision on whether or not we put those measures in place to be made by the fans and as such we asked Supporters’ Committee members to vote on the matter. The committee supported the Club and voted unanimously in favour of the match going ahead as normal". ARF! Doublethink worthy of the Ministry Of Truth in 1984.
I have posted what I understand to have happened. I am not saying that the documents were the reason. Just a chain of events.
So what pricing structure would you have liked to see? Paying over 12 months but with concessions so nothing like the scheme they introduced? Many believe it was a good thing? What is your definition of many?
The meeting failed after a document was put in front of the committee members, it contained EFL Guideline 111, issued in April 2017 (when we where in the PL). The gist of which was to put before the committee evidence that the protest groups had a right under the EFL rules to a place at the table. The fact is that EFL Regulation 112 ( not 111) is a very loosely worded section, that can be read in many ways. Posts on here suggest that if the Trust was not invited to sit on the committee in the future, it would be a breach of EFL rules and this is simply not the case. The reason for the cancellation, given by Ehab is because of the article, but combine it with the document and commentary becomes a threat in my view. The meeting failed because they decided to cancel in advance. Nothing in the Hull Daily Mail article, the document distribution or commentary represents a threat in my view.
This 'EFL guideline 112 document' has not been mentioned (publicly anyway) before today. GB has not mentioned it in any of his interviews. The committee rep who I know hasn't mentioned it. He did say the food was nice though.
As I understand it, he asked for the make-up of the future Supports Committee to be added to AOB, as there was talk of this being the last meeting for the current incumbents. The EFL guidelines were raised by Geoff as an issue after the previous meeting and they were emailed to the club to review over a week before the cancelled meeting.
maybe the large number of "kids" with beards surely give it away, but I suppose all kids look older nowadays !!
No idea where you've got the idea there's people with beards going in as kids from, but if it was true then as you say, it'd be easily detected so there's really no issue.
Hate to say it but I agree with you, a far better solution would be to have kids only turnstiles. I even remember going through those in Boothferry Park North Stand. But we all know there was abuse going on, and I am all in favour of a crackdown, because why should someone get in for half price and I pay full price !!
Trouble with that is you might end up with a five or six year old still queuing outside whilst daddy's inside or the nipper inside whilst daddy's outside - it's not safe with lots of people milling around - they have to stay together
No we don't. In fact I'm puzzled why so many people are so happy to accept it. Ehab has made this claim but he's a liar, and when questioned he can't back it up. To say it's suspicious would be being generous.
It's nice that we now have some evidence to work from, even though that has come from Middlesborough. Last season they detected 160 misuse of concession tickets, with that in mind they had a "major crackdown" at the first 3 games of this season and they found 23. Now to me a major crackdown suggests extra checks and controls and yet they could only find 23 cases of misuse at three games.
Ehab may be a liar.....so what's your excuse ? You just stick your fingers in your ears and shout "la la la la la" and ignore what's going on around you. Its pretty common knowledge that it goes on, and it always has done even since I was a kid.......and its always been my claim, that most of those staying away at the moment are those that would have to pay full price now
Are you saying you know people who did it then ? It certainly wasn't 'common knowledge' to me , all the adults I knew had adult tickets
To be fair of course it goes on just like kids going to see films at the pictures which are rated higher than their age, going on the bus to town for a kids price, going drinking in pubs underage, there will always be those who cheat the rules, the big point is how much time, effort and money do you put in to police the rules and at the same time minimising the inconvenience to those not breaking the rules.
What's my excuse for what? What am I ignoring and shouting la la la at? Is there some evidence that I'm ignoring or missing? As far as I can see all we have is Ehab's word. Literally nothing else supports his claim that people were abusing tickets. "Pretty common knowledge that it goes on". Certainly in my experience I'm not aware of anyone who has done it. Can't remember anyone mentioning it on here either.
