7.30 Chelmsford and my cliff horse goes again, been backed from the 16s available earlier which I didn't take. Come on Loyalty put the young upstarts in there place Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Poignant victory for Cyrus Darius and Ruth Jefferson today in the Morebattle at Kelso. Well done Ruth, now for your first Grade 1 on Saturday
Yep, always thought WP has the potential to go right to the top and with juicy ground he will be much more at home than Top Notch. I hope this seaon goes well and they step him up next season, could be a proper stayer in the making.
Looks to have bags of toe Oddy, cruises through every race he’s had, I’d nearly be looking to go down in trip to 2m rather than up, especially with how he jumps (that is if you don’t keep him at intermediate trips which suit him lovely). I’d say he’d be competitive in this years QM, as if Altior bounces from here to the moon, besides Min there ain’t much else in it.
Malcolm (RIP) Jefferson always said they would only run him on soft ground, not sure how Ruth and the owners see it. To me he doesn't have a typical soft ground action, just needs a bit of juice (i.e. not Aintree good ground). For me he has never been truly tested, never been asked a serious question and I agree he has the pace and jumping ability for a QMCC. If it comes up softish on the Wednesday at Cheltenham that's where I would send him
I love this horse and I like you followed him from an early stage. I did a trixie earlier in the week with him Blaklion and Black Corton....will certainly swell the Festival coffers if all three oblige.
I've never seen a horse come cruising like that and then quicken away in a bumper (well, not since Dunguib). I just think he is on a different planet to anything else at the moment. The Irish form of Blackbow and Rhinestone is all on soft/heavy and we will have to see how that translates to Cheltenham in March ..........
Any thoughts on Cliffs Of Dover in the Kingwell Hurdle lads? Is he definitely running? Loved him as a juvenile and I guess he'll need this, but could he be a left-field Champion Hurdle horse?
In the Kingwell Hurdle I fancy Ch'tibello and cant see it being beat. Finished 2nd in the race last year so is ok at the track and I don't think the favourite is anything special. As long as its not heavy its Skeltons horse for me... (forecast is dry tomorrow and Saturday). If he wins in style maybe an outsiders chance of finishing top 3 in the champion hurdle?
4.35 Sandown tomorrow ..... joint favs currently at 11-8, my money is on Broken Quest, 11lb "well in" and currently winning for fun. Ridden by a 7lb claimer, this looks nailed on imo The other jt fav is Herewego etc, a McManus owned beast who is 12lb "well in", but may well need better ground. Good luck the players
