After all the arguing they've done to say the penalty was justified, definitive proof there was no contact, Spud should have been booked for a dive.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Spurs are the worst divers in the PL. They must practice in training. Their manager could stop it easily, if he wanted to, but he appears to endorse it as "part of the game"

As clear a case of 'went for and got' as you're likely to see.

It's a complete joke now the amount of simulation in the game. Is VAR the answer?

If that type of bullshit doesn't even get retro punishment then yes sadly.

But then again this is the FA we are dealing with here where anything is possible and nothing surprises us anymore.

Well if the VAR ref had viewed it a few times he'd have come to the conclusion that our defender pulls his leg back to avoid contact and the Spurs player pretends there's contact and pretends he's hurt by it.

But the Spuds fans are adamant that there was contact.

Spurs player deliberately ran into VVD under a difficult situation. Match officials should have booked Tottenham player.

And that's why we call them spuds fans because they are mentally challenged.

IF there was contact it would have been his lower back, not his calf or thigh or whichever part of his body he went down holding.

Like Dribs said if you watch the Spurs player coming in he deliberately backs into the defender and already has the dive in mind, it was blatant cheating, but it's gone now.<wah>

The vid doesn't make it entirely clear to me. The fps isn't high enough to show where van Dijk's foot goes as he flicks it out before he then raises his knee to pull out of the challenge. It's possible there was contact there though he obviously tried to avoid it. Also Lamela clearly tried to instigate it as he looks straight at VvD before running across him.
Lamela knows what he's doing, imo.
It's obvious Lamela, Kane, and the cheating ****bag Alli are all doing this on purpose because Poch is encouraging them to. He's clearly stated that it's part of the game as far as he's concerned.

    Nope
cos on most angles it looks a clear pen.
I'm convinced the Calvert-Lewin instigated all the contact for his pen against us but only 1 angle showed it & that was none of the normal ones so decision would almost certainly stand. Compare that to his recent effort when ref an the camera could both see it clearly first time.

    He did. <ok>
I agree that VAR isn't the answer. It might make some decisions a bit easier, but anyone thinking it will clear up all controversy is kidding themselves, I think.
