Simply wow! The perfect away match.

We must remember that Porto haven’t lost at home in quite some time so this is no easy place to come to. And we just destroyed them.

The plan is simple - let teams come onto us and we counter the **** out of them.

One of the few games where everyone played well and made few mistakes. The defence looked solid bar a couple of moments. VVD was immense IMO, not just defensively but it’s his ability to pass and play with calmness. Karius and Lovren look more confident as well.

Milner was really good and unlucky not to score a worldie. Gini has come on well in the past couple of games - getting on the ball more and looking to do more with it, which is positive.

The front 3 speak for themselves but Salah’s goal was brilliant - looks simple but it’s great intelligence and composure. Mane bagged himself a hattrick and hopefully this gives him a much needed confidence boost.

But .. Bobby Firmino. This guy is integral to our system. Involved in prett much every attack. He’s really stepped up this season and he will only get better. He’s evolving into the striker we needed.

I was hoping we are going to get a draw or narrow win and finish the job at Anfield.

I think they'll come out all guns blazing and if we ride that out or counter them they'll fade away.

Because we're playing united after Porto at Anfield we can afford to rest players.

they will have fans already with tickets and flights etc booked. they have to turn up and try and make some sort of show but the reality is they showed no heart at home so with less fans they the pattern of game will not be that different

    YOu are right they can

    a) push up on our cbs and get hit on break IF we play anyone capable

    b) sit off in same set up but drop the keeper and hope to get 0-0... we will just pass it round back

If i had a ticket for this CL game (which i suppose a lot must have gone out of their way to get) I'd be thinking oh ****... non entitiy of a game.

    Yes great night.

But at the risk of being a kill joy, we shouldn’t go over the top. Porto were really gash and played no better than a championship or 1 division side. The weaker sides in our league have learnt long ago that to play a slow passing game from the back without the right players would be suicidal. They had gone undefeated at home but probably shows the weakness of their league rather than their true strength.

Yes we can only play we’ve got in front of us and credit to the players they filled their boots. I would wait until we demolish one of the top teams before saying others would be scared of meeting us.

I must say that spurs coming back to 2-2 after being down 2-0 at juventus was more impressive.
