Wouldn't surprise me given they are going to be doing some kind of deal with each other in terms of merging their services that they are now spending similar money on each game. The price per game for Sky is no different, and BT price per game has actually gone up to similar price to Sky. I guess it depends what the overseas price is, if that goes up then won't see any drop in money being spent by clubs.
Does this mean that you will still be in for Joselu at 50mill then this Summer? I read on bbc that sky bid amounts to 9.3mil per match down from 10.8mill last time. Suspect that the last bid was over the odds as thet were trying to stop competition from BT.,
Price per game down 10%, number of games sold up by more than that. Overseas likely to increase more than the domestic. Prices reaching a plateau but no indication of an impending crash
Ah, but here's the thing - what's going to stop transfer costs, agent fees and salaries from continuing to skyrocket? My hope here is that the income has indeed plateaued, so something MUST be done about the ridiculous pricing. However, NOTHING has stopped the pricing so far from continuing to escalate. The larger clubs will continue to generate income away from TV. Unless something drastic is done, competitiveness is going to absolutely die - what are the likes of Bournemouth going to do if someone like Nathan Ake costs £40m+ but they no longer have enough TV money to cover it?
Really important time in our recent history here. This could be the peak of TV deals for the Premier League. Clubs are (rightly) using this as a time to build stadia, invest in training facilities etc, and we must do the same. Our academy, training ground, and first team squad are all in need of investment. We just need the right people in the boardroom to get it done.
