My take on the player scores.... what's yours?

Dubravka - 8 confident, good saves, great distribution and bossed his box - great debut
Yedlin- 6 ran around like a headless chicken at tmes
Lascelles- 8 A Gandalf esque 'thou shalt not pass' performance from the man mountain
Lejeune- 7 Worked well alongside Jamaal
Dummett- 8 Mr dependable bossed his sector well. so underrated.
Ritchie- 8 After weeks of 'hard work' but no end product he delivered. Good for his confidence we hope.
Shelvey- 8 Literally pulled all the strings in the middle. Kept his cool too. I'm not a fan but tip my hat to him.
Diame- 9 Beast Master - jesus, at times it honestly felt as though someone had got a time machine and transported Viera forward in time and snook him into a Diame shirt.
Kenedy- 7- Faded in the second half but took some of their players out of play creating spaces for others.
Perez- 7- Did his job and ran his legs into stumps for the cause
Gayle- 6- Feeding off scraps but worked hard.

Joselu- 7 - put himself about a bit
Atsu- 7- not much time to shine but carried the ball out of danger well.
Hayden- 6- no time to shine.

Yedlin was a 5 for me. Subs all 6’s. Perez a 6. Diame an 8. Lejeune 9. Lascelles 7. Dummett 9. Dubravka 9. Other than that I agree.

Let's get away from the Diame ****athon for just a second, he was good, but Dubravka, Shelvey and Laecelles were clearly the heroes today.

I forgot pogba came off. Still think he's in diame's back pocket. Dummet's tardis pocket can welcome mata as well

Dummett seems to be Marmite with our fans. I really like him and think he is massively underrated

Great team performance from your boys today, from 1st to last minute.

Your new GK looked great, Shelvey was also superb.

    No excuses, just out-played.

Fair play Tel. Your boys were off-colour today but it's fine margins and could easily have gone the other way. We played out of our skins at times (Diame=Shelvey in the middle both had good games) and needed to to compete.

I STILL haven't stopped ****ing over Diame, I'm worried I may need hospitalisation. Yes Shelvey, Lascelles and Dubravka were excellent but with Diame it is such a transformation that I don't think it can be overstated. He has looked a beast for the past few games and it has coincided with our good form.

For all his negative points Dummet is first and foremost a defender and, at the moment, just what we need.

He's solid, and you need those who'll be 6 or 7 out of 10 more often than not.

But most importantly, he's a left back. When he was injured, we didn't have one.

Dubravka - 9 - Excellent debut. Some people might think 9 is a generous rating, he didn't have too many saves to make, but made them right when we needed them. Looked confident in gathering the ball and his positioning was fantastic.
Yedlin - 5 - Can't fault him for effort, but he did get caught out quite a bit.
    Lascelles - 8 - Solid defending.
    Lejuene - 8 - Solid
Dummett - 8 - Solid on the left

Ritchie - 8 - Good goal and worked hard throughout the game.
Diame - 8.5 - This guy is on fire at the moment. He literally looks like a worthy premier league defensive midfielder. I never thought he was this sort of player, I always thought he was a CAM, but looks like an all round good CM. He wins the ball well without giving away too many fouls.
Shelvey - 8 - Great work rate. Good winning of the ball without giving away much. He's definitely improved his attitude recently.
Kenendy - 4 - The kid has some good ball control but he's just way under par for this league in terms of passing and movement. Poor move for loan, he should be in the championship, maybe league one.
Perez - 5.5 - Good work rate, but not much of a threat.
    Gayle - 5 - Did nothing much
Joselu - 5.5 - Did ok in terms of work rate and holding ball up, but not much else.
    Atsu - 5 - Meh.
MOTM - Dubravka - Excellent debut, filled everyone with confidence, the crowd and the defence.

What on earth man, Kenedy is by far and away the best player we can field atm out on the wings... Championship or League 1? Give me what your smoking bruddah

There wasn't one player who was under a 7 yesterday, thought Yedders was good but just outshone by the other 4 of the back 5 but still did his job, he forced Sanchez wider when he'd gone around Dubravka to allow Lejuene to get back in for the clearence and Gayle....well what can you say, by far, that was the best I've seen him for the club in the EPL, got the assist and worked his nut off yesterday. Not a fan of either but just think people didn't rate them as highly as we had 11 players yesterday who played out of their skin and some drew more attention than others.

BIG respect to @Tel for the honest assessment mate, my house mate is a Man U fan and I said it to him, Man U seemed to think they'd walk the game but generally I can't remember a performance in the last 3 years we've played that well.

And fair play to Rafa, been critical of him and his team selections and tactics this year but that's as close to perfect as it gets for a manager. Big call playing Dubravka - right choice, 2 up top vs Man U, big call - right choice, Lejuene in for Clark, big call... right choice.

Even his sub's weren't awful either.

Sorry guys, but I disagree. I think Kennedy has some decent pace and skill, but he doesn't seem to be able to pick a pass to save his life and doesn't seem confident in beating players with the ball. Apart from his debut, he hasn't really done anything significant.

Harsh on Yedlin, given he was up against Sanchez for best part of the game.

I must admit I thought Yedlin was ****. His positional sense is none existent.

The only concern I have with Kenedy is his fitness. He was blowing out his arse again mid way through the second half. I know some will say he hasn't played a lot of football but he is ****ing 21 training every day! If I was guessing I'd say he is a party boy away from the football.
