I’ve been thinking it for a while but... What are the odds lacazette gets sold in the summer? It seemed really strange that we got Aubameyang as they are so similar and I just think we need a different sort of striker than those two to complement Auba. He looks a little low on confidence at the moment.
I like a lot of gooners have a general apathy towards the club whilst Wenger continues to hold our club to ransome and stink out the club. I stopped caring (2 years ago when I gave up my beloved season ticket). Last season I decided will not buy any Arsenal merchandise. Just hope and pray this guy does the decent thing and packup and just go... Dont care who replaces him, one thing is for certain, they will be gone if they Mrror Wengers results!
That’s a good point, I do think if Wengers replacement had this record, he would be sacked. Which begs the question: why are we holding on to Wenger?
Nostalgia and a fear of change/'the unknown'. They are the only reasons I can rationalise. It certainly isn't for his badass managerial qualities that's for sure.
I can't believe some of you guys put 6-7 arsenal players in best 11 of SpursxArsenal is not only one performance, but an overall assessment over the past 2 years the table position don't lie. Arsenal stars simply just too inconsistent to be picked for any top side atm. yes the manager setup had effected each side, so it is an important factor, but I can only value players on what they offer on the pitch .. and currently will pick every single Spurs players over arsenal players.. mikha and ozil are just too lazy for me, I rather have Erikson and Alli , and kane over Aubameyang .. in every position, spurs players feel more balanced and effective. Arsneal players have same problems as Liverpool, your players are unbalanced and can't defend .. but at least Liverpool are more direct in their attack, Arsenal meanwhile are slower in build up and have to play the perfect pass for the goal. I think your manager lost the balance in both defending and attacking .. as a UTD fan, I hoped for a draw today .. and you almost snatched one by end ..
I think there is the hope (both from him and the board) he would roll back the glory years. Added to that is the weakness of leadership, there is the perception that he has done a great deal for this club (which I agree with) and hence he and only HE can decide when to packup! This is why I feel he has us over a barrel now. In his head he thinks he can still do it.. We all kn1ow he is past it.
Maybe a bit of a Wenger pattern forming here. Laca could well end up like Perez, being frozen out not long after joining. Auba needs to get his finger out soon or he will go the same way and Wenger can then keep playing Iwobi as his favourite striker and as we all know Iwobi doesn't score anyway. Bizarre or what ?
I was hoping for Spurs to have a bit of an off game or feel the pressure but none of those things happened. Other than 10 mins of play in the first half, spurs were dominant throughout and should have been out of sight if not for Cech. It wasn't a surrise really. Poch has built a well balanced team throughout whereas Wenger has put together a top heavy team, great going forward with severe problems in midfield and defence. We was always going to have problems fielding a crap duo of Elneny and Xhaka. Spurs were able to dictate the tempo and possession within midfield. Again this was no surpise and the rebuilding process has to continue into Summer proper. Wenger has to go, not because of this sole result, but the fact he doesn't see the huge problem with our midfield. Instead we end up buying 2 attacking players in Jan. Guy hasn't got a ****ing clue!
We need a new manager in summer, whether that is a replacement or a caretaker, someone to oversee our rebuilding process. Wenger doesn't see some of the glaring problems with our squad. At one point he was producing really good football but poor defence back in 2008, but now it looks like he's winging it. He has spent so much money on attacking players but rarely splashes the cash for a commanding midfielder who is good defensively and reads the game well. He hasn't produced a well balanced side for over 10 years.
Was at Wembley and apart from the last few minutes you never looked like scoring. Your subs did nothing whereas ours slotted straight in. Only Cech played better than than his counter part...cos Lloris had very little to do. The second half was men against boys. Your new players were anonymous and other than Whilshere they looked like they couldn't be arsed. Was very very surprised. Reminded me of when you beat us in the AVB Sherwood season...and we were ****e that season
Mostly tosh. Swap the squads around and most of the spurs team would look bang average managed by Wenger. And most of the arsenal team would probably look amazing managed by a proper manager like Poch. Analysing how good our players are is so tough when you consider the shower of ****e they are managed by. Do you really think Kosc or Mustafi are any worse defenders than Verts or Sanchez? Do you think if Verts or Sanchez played under Wenger they'd suddenly sure up a Wenger defence? Aubamayang is proven top class. Ozil is top class. Mkhitaryan is top class. So many players who under someone like Pochetino with proper training, tactics, drive, passion, mental toughness... Would actually look far better than they look right now.
Spot on. Fergie made players like Fletcher into world beaters and he also knew how to tactically play them. Our team is littered with Interntional player's but it's unbalanced and Wenger can't consistently motivate them on a regular basis. Poch has done very well with the players he has but there is they are yet to prove themselves by winning something.
No matter how poor the manager is players could at least try...not to is unforgivable and today your players looked like they were not trying.
I have worked for complete ****er bosses but all of my jobs have involved performing some kind of public service to a community so I put in my best effort...players should at the minimum put in their best effort for the fans even if they are playing **** and making mistakes. The players should be ****ing ashamed for short changing their fans if they are not trying their hardest imho
I simply don't believe we have a significantly higher number of inherently lazy players than any other xlub. There will be a select few players who self motivate but most will play for their manager. Put Kosc and Mustafi together in the Spurs team under Poch and they'd be solid as a rock. Put Mkhi and Ozil in place of Alli and Eriksen in the spurs team under Poch for a season and they'd be on fire. It's not just about effort. Lots of players do put in effort. They simply have no belief. No belief in their tactics, that they can win, that they can then deficits around, that they can shut up shop. There are so many things wrong with our club and yet so many of those would almost certainly all improve instantly just from getting rid of our complete ****wit of a manger.
A week ago they put 5 past Everton ... this week they couldn't be ****ed...that's the fault of the players not the manager imho
