Some rumours emerging that our former player Liam Miller has been moved to a hospice and doesnt have long to live :-( He's only 36. Awful news. 2 years to the day that Martin Fulop passed away. Liam Miller for me is synonymous with that transfer deadline day under Keane that proved the catalyst for turning the club around.
Im very sad to hear this. I really hope its not true and it echoes what i run through my mind when im low. Life is not a rehearsel make the most of what you have cause it could all be taken away from you in a second.
Sounds like more than a rumour. Fighting pancreatic cancer and going into chemo according to Twitter reports. Poor lad, hope he pulls through. That’s Shocking at 36 like.
Sad that rumour is spreading faster than the truth. Still not confirmed, still not a single media outlet has covered it and it's been hours. Yet it's all over Twitter, loads of it are RIPs for his death ffs.
This is very different to being in a cork hospice on his last legs I must say. A better version of the story though, hope it's this one rather than the bleak picture painted at first.
I I'm liking this only in a good infornation way only - I m sitting here watching Alan's Shearer investigation into the brain injury caused by heading a football. Horrific injury playing the game we all love. Sad news all round imo
I hate to say it but Shearer was one of the best players ive known in my lifetime. I have no idea about this program but i hope hes ok. He was the most complete striker ive ever known.
It wouldn't surprise me if heading the ball does long term damage, anyone who's met a high ball with their head can attest to the jarring feeling and over a career it will add up. Especially for older players, the footballs back in the day were like rocks compared to modern balls.
Agree despite his Darkside links you can't diss quality which he was. No brain injury identified apart from being born near the wrong river. Seriously shows how our lifestyles effect our health - but as Sunderland fans we tend to be emotionally strong - always expect the unexpected keeps you on your toes
Absolutely. Awful disease which has probably touched almost every adult at some point! Fingers crossed that he makes it through, but it doesn't look good reading the information about it.
Oh no....that's so tragic.....RIP lad....thank you for your contribution to our great club......god bless.
Thats fecking shocking, feel like shyte now. I remember his screamer against boro sat with their fans behind the goal. Puts things massively in perspective to me. Live each day asif its your last.
