Over on CL we have got some posters seriously making comparison between CARD’s (feeble) efforts and our troops liberating France in WW2. F*ck me, we really have got some morons following this club. #getagrip
I enjoyed the protests. The coffin march was good, but the Belgian ones were what really hacked him off. It was good to feel that we weren't accepting his destruction of our club. The only other owner I ever protested against was the late Michael Gliksten, and I never expect to do so again. It could be argued that Mark Hulyer was even worse, despite his good intentions.
Roland is selling all of his clubs. Nothing to do with a load of middle aged dribblers wearing Arabic outfits or throwing pigs on the pitch. We genuinely have the most embrassing (credit to Colin) fans in the world.
This is a genuine question; If everybody is so embarrassed by the way CARD chose to show its opposition to Duchatelet, can some members here explain how they would have played it differently, and why their methods would have been more effective and less cringeworthy? Reams has in the past voiced approval for the Standard Liege way. Something along the lines of a gang of masked thugs armed with clubs and baseball bats marching through the streets of Charlton, then smashing their way into the Valley and confronting whoever they could find there (Meire or Murray presumably) in their own offices. Would anybody here agree with him? This is his thread after all.
Anything that pissed off Duchatelet was alright by me, so well done to CARD if they added to that. Fact is many fans were anti RD, and protesting long before anyone had heard of CARD. #johnnycomelatelys
B20 were the ones who really pi55ed him off. They did it off their own bat, although CARD did subsidise the coaches in the march through ST. I say well done everyone who opposed him, shame on those who went grovelling for favours (or jobs).
Then only minutes later he's completely anti protest - He'll say whatever fits his immediate personal agenda.#nosubstance There was also plenty of protesting on all the social media sites, again long before CARD...Even RD noted the effect of that recently.
There was some VERY interesting stuff posted by Ivor and his chums the day of the first car park protest. The first home game of the Karel Fraeye rein.
