So like a game of 'Guess Who', can we go back to the people who said fees had been agreed and tick them off? The interview with Murray didn't shed much light, but any news is welcome.
Always read in-between the lines with Murray - "For a Club like us".....never sounds good in football terms.
I'm a bit confused by Murray saying that the price isn't a problem, and also that no price has been agreed.
My only reading of that would be how it's split - or maybe Roland wants some future ''incentives'' thrown in like Murray. I still believe, somewhere, RD thinks he's set us up nicely for the future, and he might want some of that.
Rick Everitt has heard from two sources that the price has been agreed. Done deal #cafc 10:52 AM - Feb 8, 2018 3 See Rick Everitt's other Tweets
Now we can worry about how daft are the new owners who paid a Price aceptable to Roly. #glasshalfempty
It may turn out (or not) that the one thing Roland gets right is the way he has gone about selling the club. If the previous owners had done this, instead of offloading ASAP to any old Tom Dick or Harry , we wouldn't have been lumbered with Roland.
Maybe we will look back in 20 years time at the Duchatelet era, and laugh. Katrien Meire....Karel Fraeye....Thomas Driesen...you couldn’t have made it up.
what do you think Tony Keohone is thinking? his foot holdings may be weakening. hopefully he f*cks off too.
Roland's hallmark has been arrogance. Replacing Yann with the more expensive Polish Pete put down a marker. Sacking Jose Riga confirmed "I will do it MY way". The statement that each manager had been an improvement on the previous one proved beyond reasonable doubt that the regime was beyond hope.
None of them are football people, and they were not interested in learning for themselves or employing experience. Not a clue about the Championship. Not a clue about fan culture in England. Not a clue how to communicate with anybody except other business people. Did not even regard competitive first team football as important for the Club's future. Totally confident that their untried plans would work, and utterly contemptuous of anybody who disagreed with them. Took fans for quaint Little Englanders who could be openly laughed at. That last fault was one that even Duchatelet should have taken Meire to task for. Anywhere in the world and in any culture, one thing a business should never do is insult its own customers* (* I know we don't regard ourselves as customers, but from their point of view in a strict business sense we are - or at least we are the equivalent.)
seems to have been a bit of a climb down from what was implied by his first tweet. basically said on CL that it's agreed but he has no idea who with or when. so nothing has moved or changed. Even BDL has done something similar - said it's done and dusted and now come out with a "someone else said it".
