Obadiah - you may well be right but, if what Ehab claims is true, we have just provided them with their “Get out of jail” card and for what? An ill advised article in the local press and a misguided and unprofessional act at a meeting between all the interested parties. MoH
What was said and done will not change if the meeting had gone ahead tonight, or happens next week or next month so what was the real point of cancelling tonights meeting.
There is no get out of jail card. What are they going to do after the Sheffield United match? Does anyone seriously think them walking away from tonight's meeting will result in any protest being postponed. The cancer that is eating at our club will get worse because they walked away tonight not better.
You seem to have overlooked the fact that, in Ehab's own words, the scarves were not the reason why the meeting was postponed. It's a red herring (with Allam Out etched into the side of the herring).
But there is because now they can throw up their hands and say “we tried to hold out an olive branch but the supporters club representatives chose instead to issue veiled threats etc”. Then, when any protests occur, they will claim that they were inevitable (and do not represent the majority of fans) and point to these failures as proof that the fans cannot be reasoned with. MoH
Get out of what jail? They’re the ones who can resolve the issues of name change and concessions with the stroke of a pen They choose not to The rest is just a sideshow to string people along to reduce protests until they can get the maximum cash out of their ‘gift’ If it wasn’t a scarf or an article it would be the weather, a flat tyre, a peanut allergy or any other spurious reason to move closer to the exit door without them being embarrassed on tv or in front of dignitaries
Concessions only happens if we are in the Prem. which isn’t happening any time soon. I don’t see any use of our name yet? The badge when does the consultation start?
No, I understood that scarfgate was not the reason merely that it fed into the decision following the article. Ehab kept it in his back pocket. MoH
No, but before all of this came out, I was told exactly what happened and I have no doubts over the person who told me. If I had posted it on here, it may have been seen as me trying to undermine a rep from another group Odd but our notes from the meetings say that they wanted proposals from the supporters, wasn’t there a thead on it.
But there is nobody listening other than a small minority who think the sun shines out of their backsides. We are losing supporters, we are facing relegation, the protests will continue whilst they refuse to use our name and re-introduce concessions. We are in a downward spiral as a club and they had the opportunity to try and reverse it. They refused to take it because they are stupid.
But this has given them their “out”. I would be far happier if all Ehab could quote was a patently obvious spurious reason, like those you suggest, rather than something which could reflect badly on the supporters representatives. MoH
What about the neutral? If you take emotion out of it, objectively, there is now blame on both sides. MoH
Geoff mentioned 4 people wanted to buy the club last year, and here we still are. Not shifting till that last 40 million’s in the bank Ehab?
^^a 100x this^^ ....... everything they do is meant to split the support base even further, and still some of the muppets who ''follow us'' can't see it; we really are getting what we deserve, as a fan group we're ****ing pathetic; we're arguing over bastard scarves while the loathsome toad and his chav bastard son are sat at home pissing themselves. Come back Patty, for ****s sake, come back.
Hull City Supporters Liaison Committee Meeting Thursday 14th Dec 2017 A short agenda, a lengthy but productive session and almost a full suite of supporter representatives as well as Dr Assem Allam and Ehab Allam amongst other Club officials. Worth noting that Ehab stated on more than one occasion throughout the meeting, “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and that as a group, we should be “looking for a long term solution, not a quick fix”, but also that he accepted that whilst decisions had been made in the best interests of the Club, mistakes had been made specifically in terms of communications and in not fully understanding the fans’ perspectives, but that there is a desire to listen. Concessionary pricing. Much repetition of the points made at the previous meeting, (see prior report) with the main point being that the reason the membership scheme was brought in was to prevent the abuse that existed through the misuse of concessionary ticketing, and not to price anyone out of attending matches. The actions taken away were as follows: All to re-review & feedback the offer of concessionary pricing proposed by Ehab last month – link attached:- https://www.hullcitytigers.com/media/6952/match-categories-and-ticket-prices-all-cat-2.pdf Club to look to extend the above into the membership scheme, not just one off match ticket purchases. Club to review a proposal handed out at the meeting from the Supporters Trust. Club to investigate whether concessions only turnstiles would adversely impact “flow rates” which are a health and safety standards. Club Branding It was accepted that historically, the Club has not had good control over its brand and that many of the issues including email addresses, website name, have been as they are now since before the Allam family purchased the Club. Much discussion around the current crest / club badge – the owners do not like the current badge and are keen to involve supporters in making a change to it for the start of the 18/19 season. Actions agreed: Club to engage with fans around the design of a new crest Club to send out summary brand guidelines to meeting attendees to aid feedback as to suggested amendments and in what circumstances to use what wording. All therefore to feedback accordingly.
