Moshiri is definitely refusing to put a single penny of his own money into the stadium and paying the council a few million to arrange the loan for him rather than do it himself out of the goodness of his heart.

 

Yup.... "victimless crime"..... except who died because there wasn't a doctor, or firefighter or ebough social housing.

What's worse is they don't even use the money, they just hoard most of it in secret accounts so no-one else can use it

 

If you read Joe's twitter there's people on there questioning why the council are funding a stadium for a team owned by a billionaire If it's a good deal for the city then go for it but I don't trust Joe knows the full consequences of what he's doing.

 

Calling the police over Barkley shows how #deluded he is. It would be a bad idea for a competent mayor let alone one wading through so many scandals.

The council aren’t funding it, they’re basically allowing access to their credit line in return for an annual fee. The risk is bugger all, as they’ll have first dibs on EFC’s revenue stream.

The reason it works is due to the interest rate they can borrow at, it’s a very clever scheme.

 

I'm sure the banks love having LCC pass on their credit line to private companies and there's zero risk of the interest rate going up, especially with #brexit and LCC's debt approaching £1b.

 

Hence the SPV

 

Just like Finch Farm where LCC gets the bill for £4m of improvements and EFC get the £5m profit from naming rights?

I note that the leaked Brexit dossier predicts a 16% reduction in GDP in the North of england.

I'm sure that credit line isn't needed at all.. why would allowing a football clubs money to be on your debt in those circumstances be risky...
