It's me again, back with a poll. So the transfer window is shut. Which 3 teams haven't got the the quality to stay up? It's a tough one this year. The table doesn't lie, with only 3 points between 11th and 19th there are quite a few teams to choose from. I would have put Everton and Bournemouth in the poll as well if it would let me.
It's gonna be a really tight year. 36 should be enough for safety. I think we'll get to about 40 points, as we've become hard to beat so if we can just shore it up and get clean sheets back I think we could sneak a few more points than we expect.
Very difficult one. I've gone for Huddersfield, Stoke and West Brom. However I think you have to wait at least a month or two to have any idea. At some stage a side or two will put 2 or 3 wins together and pull away.
Taking all things into account (points tally, goal difference, form, injuries, ability, etc), as of today I'd say the bottom 3 are the most likely to be relegated (West Brom, Stoke and Huddersfield). Clearly Swansea and us are next in line. Right now just 2 consecutive wins would bw transformative for all the 10 clubs currently caught up on this desperate fight for survival.
The thing is no side looks like putting 2 wins together. West Brom need two wins where nobody above them gets anything. It's just looking bleak for the Baggies. I would have had Swansea as one of those to get out of it, but with Bony and Fer out for the season the stars haven't aligned for them. But it's very tight between them and Stoke. I feel Huddersfield will definitely go down, they're just not creating enough and have zero experience anywhere. I think we might just get lucky for four reasons; 1) the diabolical home form has to change at least a bit, 2) Rafa knows how to get points away from home which has typically been our main downfall, 3) the players -limited though they are - have fight and spirit and 4) we've brought in game changers in Kenedy and Slimani. The former because he's clearly the most talented player at our disposal, the latter because he cannot be worse than Joselu or Gayle.
I'd say: Stoke - looked poor both times we played them, very average team, and appointing Paul Lambert was a bloody horrendous decision. West Brom - only won 3 games and don't look like winning in any game I've seen them. And of course they have silver haired sleazebag who's no doubt fallen out with all the players already and is shagging half their wives. Huddersfield - they've played decent, but their team just ain't up to it. can't see them putting any run together. so rather uninspiring, but I've gone with the current bottom 3. Palace and West Ham have got enough quality to pull away, can't see either of them involved, and I think Southampton will have enough quality to keep them safe. Those 3 I selected are most likely, but Brighton, us, Watford and Swansea are also definitely gonna be in the mix.
West Brom, Hudds, Stoke. I see Swanseagoing the great escape this season. If Slimani doesn't hit the ground running and Dubravka isn't an improvement on Darlow, then you can probably swap one of them out for us
Huddersfield and Stoke both have ‘winnable’ home game next week whilst we have Man Utd and will most likely end next week in the bottom 3. The only one I’ll guess is West Brom purely because they have it all to do.
I have Southampton, Stoke and WBA to go down from the little analysis I knocked up. It's quite interesting to see that most of the teams in and around have quite difficult games in the last 4-5 games, playing sides from the top 4/5 teams. By my calculations we'll scrape it but only just. Obviously there are many ifs and buts and the quicker we get a few wins on the board the better. Goal difference may also come into it so we just need to make sure we don't get battered as badly as the other teams around us by the likes of liverpool, spurs, arsenal and chelsea :- Green = win Orange = draw Red = lose
Manure home B'mouth away Scousers away Next 3 games hmmm might get 2 points,be delighted with 3/4,ecstatic with 5/6 and safe with 7/9 but could just as easily get 0/1.
Gone with Brighton, Huddersfield for the lack of experience in the league - although our current squad could fall into that catergory, and West Brom. More in hope than anything else to be honest.
I’ve given us 10 points between now and the end of the season taking us to 35 (draw at Bournemouth and Home wins vs Southampton, Huddersfield, & WBA).
Man U - 3 points Bournemouth - 1 point Liverpool - 0 points Southampton - 3 points Spurs - 0 points Huddersfield - 3 points Leicester - 3 points Arsenal - 3 points Everton 0 point West Brom 0 point Watford 0 points Chelsea 3 points 19 points 44 points
