Here we go again but this time it seems he's definately off to Milan, initiallly on loan then to sell after so many appearances. At least his agent will finally get reward for all his 'hard work' in getting him back home. Shame really but he never seemed to settle and Roy should have kept him last season not send him out like we didn't want him. Oh well creates space for another signing maybe.
I cant see any advantage for us in this. He will be going for less than 10 million and we should have held out for more. Aquilani gives the air of a professional and I think if we hadn't sold him he would have still played with heart for us this season - so why were we so desperate to get rid of him for so little? it's not like his contract is nearly over.
I think he really really wanted to go.He hasn't said,as far as i know, that he wants to stay. His girlfriend also wants to go so I think really our hand has been forced.
Yeah but if he wants to go back to Italy then so be it. Plus his value isn't going to rise sitting on the bench or in the reserves so I'll be happy when it's all gone through and we can get on with developing the new squad and seeing how they develop.
i think we will be fine without him but would be better with him. I can understand letting him go if the deal was good for us, but i can't see it is If he does really well they could buy him for the £8 million reported fee and then sell him at a good profit,if he doesn't do all that well they play him for 24 games and hand him back, a year older, 1 less year on contract I have an awful feeling they will get a decent player for no fee, play him for 24 games and then hand him back, a crafty way of getting a proven international on loan! Or if he does outstanding play him more and a snip of a buy ( honestly if he has a really good season with them are you saying he is only worth £8 mill) How many games are in the italian season anyway? Will take a very good bit of business for us if we managed to get someone of his like for that price
Regardless of whether he goes away on loan again or not, you guys have to stop planning for him to play for LFC again some day... it just ain't gonna happen. He only played for one season, then went on loan for a season.. so it's not as if we're losing a lynchpin of the current squad. In my mind, he ceased to be a proper LFC player, with any future at the club, the moment he was sent out on loan a year ago.
although right now i just want him to go to end all this speculation... 8 mil is a rubbish price, especially when its pretty much optional, if hes great, then we lose him cheap, if he doesnt do well or gets injured, we get him back a year older. Rather disappointed tbh
didnt you buy him for 5 years not 5 weeks? only kidding, its a shame hes a good player but i think kenny has his own signings now and aqua although could have done a job your swelling in that department, would be surprised to see raul leave now though.
