Donohue booked for a foul - luckily only a yellow. Handbags between John Maquis and Christian Burgess..... both shown yellows.
Missed a bit of that game - but something popped in Stephen Henderson's knee, Christian Burgess sent off on a second yellow and Naismith went in goal and made a save. Ended 2-2
Thanks for the thread, 3rd eye Not a bad match to watch. Young Spurs loanee Anton Walkes had an excellent debut capped with an 18th minute goal. He is a tall, powerful and pacy player. Stephen Henderson had a sound debut as well, his goal kicks were very accurate. Shame he was badly injured - he looked in absolute agony when he came off the pitch. Kal Naismith went in goal as we had already used all three subs. He did really well for the final six minutes + seven minutes added on time. We defended well, and Kal made one excellent save with his legs. Former Pompey loan player John Marquis was his usual nasty whinging self, and as I understand it was trying to persuade the referee to send Dion Donohue off for his challenge on the Donnies player, which was why Christian Burgess had a go at him, and both players were subsequently booked. Marquis has the ability to start a fight in an empty room !! Kenny Jacket commented on Stephen Henderson: 'He says he felt his thigh pop. When you do that it's gone. It doesn't look good. It looks quite a severe one as it stands at the moment.'

How many loan players can a team play in any one match? It will be interesting to see in any of the loanees become permanent signings in the close season - Kennedy, Donohue would be the two that spring to mind.
I think it's four on the pitch at any one time, and five in the match day squad, Ides. We bought Dion Donohue from Chesterfield early in the season. Our loan players are Matt Kennedy & Stuart O'Keefe (both from Cardiff City - O'Keefe long term injured); Connor Ronan & Sylvain Deslandes (both from Wolves); Tareiq Holmes-Dennis (Huddersfield - long term injured); Stephen Henderson (Nottm Forest - looks like long term injured); Anton Walkes (Spurs).
I would be interested to hear how Thompson went in mid field. Is he potentially the midfield ball winner we have been missing?
Nathan Thompson had a good game for us in central midfield, and could be the answer to our previous problems there, pdu.
I thought the triumvirate of Ronan Thompson and Close looked really promising and I hope we give it a good run. Awful for the first 15 minutes and immense effort in the last 20.Bossed large part's of the game. Atmosphere best in ages.
