On this corresponding weekend last year I posted this .... " ... In fourth that day running for the first time after a 321 day break was Baywing, who is a rank outsider of 6 in the 2.45 (25-1 with SJ) He was decent last year and although there are some improvers in tomorrows race, I think the price is an insult." He beat Callet Mad by 22 lengths at 33-1 and gave me a great end to the weekend In the same race this year I like the look of Pearl Royale - same number of runners, but nowhere near double carpet
In the madness that is Coral Hurdle in Leopardstown 16.05 I like Midnight Stroll. Five or six places in many bookies. Odds between 10-14 / 1.
Two bets for me tomorrow: Musselburgh 3.15pm Missed Approach 6/1 each way. Ran a good race in the Classic Chase at Warwick to finish 3rd behind Milansbar and no disgrace finishing 6th off 145 in the Ladbrokes Trophy. Blinkers fitted for the first time and Gavin Sheehans only ride of the day. Now on a mark of 138 and lets not forget last season finished 2nd in the National Hunt Challenge Cup at the festival last year off 145. Will have no problem staying the trip and better ground will bring about improvement. Massive chance. Sandown 3.35pm Final Nudge Will wait until the morning as possibly better odds will be available. Unlucky not to win the badger Ales chase and possibly the dire ground found him out in the Welsh National. Good jockey booking and on soft ground this should be just about perfect for him. Both horses could actually put themselves right in the Grand National picture with outstanding performances.
The Irish champion hurdle looks fascinating Faugheen looks a good price, footpad is the next incarnation of Pegasus and defi du soleil is on a recovery mission. I wouldn't back footpad at the price I'm tempted with the machine and the price of defi is to short. So I'm going for the Gordon elliot horse at the price. Fascinating race though.
Footpad versus Petit Mouchoir is tomorrow’s highlight for me. Just looked back at PMs run in October and looked a natural over fences to me. Footpad has more experience over fences and looks very good but i’m taking the 3/1 on the De Bromhead steed.

How did the scoop6 bring in 4 Irish races? No disrespect meant by the way but folk wouldn't study Irish form. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Morning all. I think it's interesting that John Quinn is sending one horse to leopardstown today. Master of Irony has had 6 races to date winning 3 and placing in 2. He should appreciate the going and has none other than Richard Johnson on board. Admittedly, it's probably madness to back anything in a 29 runner handicap but at 25/1, and for the stated reasons, I am up for taking the risk. Good luck to everyone apart from those opposing me in the 4.05
Hi mate, backed this horse a few days ago. His run at Newbury behind High Bridge was truly eyecatching. He was last by some way crossing the last but flew up the running and in another 50 yards he would have almost certainly been the winner. He will love a truly run race and as you say Richard Johnson makes a rare trip to the emerald isle, he was on him when he won at Wetherby and I am flabbergasted that he is only three pounds higher here now. He has been nibbled at all week in the market but is drifting today, the shrewdies are already on. All he has to do is beat the seven or eight home horses that have been laid out for the race
What a day in store. So many questions to be answered. Is Faugheen still a machine? Does Footpad win the Arkle on the snaff by one fence or two? Is Yorkhill a true two miler who can challenge Altior? FWIW the answers are yes, one and probably not. Class meeting this, good to see a few English raiders coming over too, hopefully their challenge will increase over the next few years as the meeting becomes established
Na, unfortunately my cousin often goes travelling for 6 months a year from Nov-April so i don't get any info as he's not around to find out anything so i get nothing for Ivory in these months
