please log in to view this image Always think fondly of this fixture as it was one of the first games I remember watching at Loftus Road, a 3-1 home win in 1997. Also a fixture involving one of, if not the, greatest goal ever scored at Loftus Road; Never get bored of watching that. Both clubs have been in the Premiership, second tier or third tier since the turn of the century, with Barnsley only a point above the relegation zone as it stands, and six points behind us. They certainly seemed to have a busier transfer period than us, as they bought in midfielder Christoph Knasmullner from Admira Wacker, defender Matt Mills and Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie. Knasmullner has scored 12 goals in 18 games for Austrian side Admira this season, so is potentially one to watch out for on Saturday. We'll hopefully see some more of Smyth at some point as he is close to a return after a 'minor right quad strain.' Plus our only other significant signing of the transfer window, Wheeler, had anke surgery which revealed fragments had come off the bone. Genuinely, does it say somewhere in the small print that part of signing for QPR involves getting a mid to long term injury as soon as possible? Mackie remains on the sideline, and will for the foreseeable future after surgery on his back. Sylla had a calf strain in training and will be out for another few weeks. A few people on here were asking for, and even expecting Ollie to go after our loss to Bristol City last Saturday, but in reality we won 2 and lost 2 in January, both loses against teams higher than us. Needless to say, we do have to start racking up some points from games like this if we are to guarantee a comfortable end to the season. Past fixture stats again Barnsley are; Games won: 27 Games drawn: 11 Games lost: 15 Last match vs Barnsley; I'll copy the match preview from the official when it appears on there, but thought I'd get discussion started and give you all time to post pictures of your favourite ladies wearing QPR shirts, or not.
First draft of the final line was 'get discussion started and give you all time to post pictures of your favourite ladies wearing QPR shirts, or not...and of course ask why nines isn't doing the matchday thread anymore.' Decided I wouldn't be the one to bring it up. Cheers nines.
Many Thanks Dave Looking forward already to the post match posts on here. No easy games Time to conclude we face the might of a club on the up this weekend. A few years time we may look back and say remember when we played Barnsley now they are in Europe Surviving in the second tier of English football is going to become a graveyard for badly run clubs or clubs that can’t afford the £500m price tag to compete in the premiership. The top six there may grow into the top eight the rest will be canon fodder The top 14 in the championship will be in a void of hope
Big 6 pointer. According to the hype....Barnsley have never ever won a football match in their entire history...and we are the team that loves to give. They have a team on the up. They sold their captain in the window. We have given up. This is Ollies last match. He has lost the dressing room Can I big it up anymore
Barnsley haven't won at HQ since 1958 almost as bad as our record at the City Ground...........#just saying
