I thought their left back shackled Bowen pretty well. This was a game we needed to score froma. Free kick, corner set piece. Our delivery is abysmal from all of them. That ballooned corner to the back post ffs th only one mand there. Drove me mad.
That's 7 out of 9 league games under adkins we haven't scored in Under slutsky We only failed to score in 1 league game It's a worrying trend It can't be just unlucky, it's too many games now Adkins the great stifler
Aina is a liability - he ****s about and loses the ball over and over again- Tomori isn't any better - they really wont be missed when we play Chelsea - as has been said already, Campbell isn't fit, he couldn't even keep up to stay on side - even I could have put that chance away in the second minute - Again Henriksen proved he can play, really good performance till he came off crocked - our shooting is ****ing woeful - why is Bowen taking corners, it's not as if they're on the money anyway - Dawson and Mazuch were excellent - just hope Mazuch isn't crocked - although it leaves the village idiot with no excuse for not bringing a centre back in
Well, it is getting a bit tedious waking up to find out we hadn't won again, I really thought after Saturday we would have won this one. I said at the time that Adkins was appointed, the thing that annoys me the most about him is his post match interviews, and he is really getting up my nose now. Having just listened to Burnsey asking him quite reasonable question, the guy wants to get a reality check, because he is burying his head in the sand if he keeps thinking what we are doing will save our season. Seems that Leo managed the cards he was dealt better than Nigel, if Leo could have just taken on a defensive coach then I am pretty sure things could have worked out for him.
I watched 5 minutes yesterday - yes it was just 5 minutes - but in that time Aina was caught out of position 3 times and he fell over once, almost creating a one on one from nothing, to prevent which he had to commit a foul and be booked. I switched it off again.
Spot on. I made all of these comments during the match. Those boys will never play for Chelsea. Slutsky was sold down the river. If the club dont get 2-3 defenders in we are in real trouble.
And we are not in real trouble now? A point or more for Bolton tonight and we are in the bottom three.
We murdered them 0-0. Adkins was blamed for playing one forward against readding. He's blamed for playing two now. I like Campbell, his tackling back is great trouble is he's employed to run like that going forward. He's not fit he was ****ed first half. He should have been hooked not Dicko. I honestly don't see how anyone can blame Adkins for yesterday. It took. Cotterill awhile to get Birmingham going. Same with us unfortunately. Leeds have been a top six side for most of the season. We were far superior to them. Bit of faith needed.
Seems he’s not the only one burying his head in the sand; silk and sow’s. This is what we’ve got, get over Slutsky, he was ****e.
Forget what he said about the number of wins needed. The dross at the bottom of this league is such that low 40 points will be enough to stay up. We're ****e but there's also another 4/5 teams equally poor.
The first 30 minutes I thought we played ok - not quite as good as Saturday, but an improvement in recent form. I even said out loud that “Henriksen is having a good game”. And then I remembered that this time last year he started coming good in matches, and then knackered his collarbone at Old Trafford and was never as good again. Again, said out loud, “I hope that’s not an omen and he doesn’t get injured again”. Five minutes later he’s on the ground holding his ankle. FFS. Second half was the worst football this season at the KCOM apart from the Reading match. At one point I wanted to hum the Benny Hill music, such was the ineptitude. If Mazuch is out again, then we have Daws and Clark for defence at Stamford Bridge. Can we just not turn up and take a default 3-0 loss, because that score line is far kinder than the cricket score we’ll actually get.
A full game was a good test of Campbell’s fitness and had to be done; Dicko was expendable. We’re unconvincing in the air and Campbell is more convincing in a tackle than those for whom it should be bread and butter. Irvine was a fish out of water and that had nothing to do with Adkins. Two poor teams but an enjoyable game. It’s all down to expectations and some, on here, confound what is known about where we are in life.
Will Lenihan finally get a game? Could be him, Clark / Kingsley, Daws and Ronald (assuming he’s not cup tied). We’ll put in our best performance of the season then they’ll be dropped for the next game.
If that was Slutsky managing that team people would have been calling for his head and calling it woeful. Slutsky was constantly blamed for individual errors in defence (Wrongly) yet people don't blame Adkins for individual errors upfront. We are no further forward than we where under Slutsky we just changed manager for the sake of it because Ehab thinks we are far better than we are. We played a team in poor form who where dire and drew 0-0. The full backs have clearly been told to very rarely get to the byline, if we had Elmo and Robertson providing width we win that game. We are so narrow as both our wingers cut in and in the first half Irvine was a fish out of water wide left. We don't have a squad, we have a group of random individuals that look so short of confidence it is unbelievable. Is it Adkins fault? No. Was it Slutsky's fault? Not at all. Do we look any better since the change of manager? Not in the slightest! I would rather draw 3-3 than 0-0. To be fair to Adkins he put as many attacking players on the pitch as he could yesterday.
I get your point but there is a big difference between individual errors in defence and individual errors upfront. Errors upfront will mean you won't win the game. Errors at the back mean you will lose the game. It's tough to find the balance and that's where we're struggling at the moment.
But it was - by all accounts - a second half calling out for invention and a touch of magic rather than bluster and battering ram. Evandro or Toral would’ve been a better swap with 20 to go than Keane. Another point is the very favourable run of fixtures that we’ve had recently - Bolton, Sunlan, an out of form TWS - twice, Reading... I’d only just noticed that no team in the division has won fewer than us all season.
Who put him on the left wing? Irvine was excellent on Saturday, as he was in his correct position. Last night, we played a centre back at right back, a right back at left back and a central midfielder on the left wing. This was in stark contrast to Saturday, when players were played in their natural positions. You can get away with the odd player covering another position, but not several of them.
