Make swearing forfeit TV money. Swearing would be gone in a minute.

You lot would then be moaning no passion left in the game ffs.

Although swearing most of the time is unnecessary it shows the players care or are frustrated.

The ones who walk around like zombies (half our team) and are emotionless do my head in.

I want to see swearing from them just not loud and clear through the refs mic.

Rugby shows the idea that passion and commitment needs a foul mouth is just wrong.

18 stone powerhouses that literally run into each other at ever quickening pace. Guys that walk off almost literally no matter what the injury, and more often than not come back on when patched up.

Yet these guys stand quietly when the ref, some of whom think they are the star and walk away when told?

What they do is more passionate...they turn around to their team mates and insist for even more commitment not just cry like a toddler about how unfair the world is.

Which is exactly what our team needs. Less talking to the ref and more getting at each other insisting on more effort.

The funniest thing about watching rugby lads talking to the ref is watching big 6ft5 18st lads looking about 5ft tall when talking to the ref and having to call him sir <laugh>

Like you say though its quite refreshing to see and its a thing even at grassroots level. Anyone that watches football even at a local level wouldn't bother refereeing because of the abuse the referees get.

"Football is a gentleman's game played by ruffians, and rugby is a ruffian's game played by gentlemen"

From the grass roots upwards and from the youngest age, the respect for referees is drummed into the players in rugby. The parents of young rugby players have fun on the side lines and applaud all good play. Parents of young footballers shout abuse at the other sides players, argue and fight with the other dads and beat the referees up. Totally different ball game and different mentality.

If a rugby player even swears at a referee, he gets like several months suspension and if he pushes the referee his career as good as over as and he'll be treated worse than a plague sufferer.

I'd personally love to see a manager, or even an owner, in the premier league take a stand on it. Any abuse toward a match official will result in an automatic fine of 1 week of your wages. It would quickly stop then and that would filter down to the other leagues, in my opinion.

I remember a kids Dad having to be locked inside their team bus to calm down as he totally lost it... This was under 11's level - absolutely pathetic, and that's not an isolated incident, it's happening all over the country.

Felt for the kid, he looked mortified.

    the thing is...

    its a myth.

the class of.... its a titel of a documentary and doesn't actually align with reality of what went on after

United's FA youth final 1992 team: Pilkington; O'Kane, Casper, Neville, Switzer; Beckham, Butt, Davies (Savage), Thornley (Gillespie); Giggs, McKee.

Giggs never played in the youth team as he was already in the first team and played all that year in the firsts. he was trhown in to that cup to make sure they won it.

Scholes wasn't in the team as others were ahead of him.

then the usual... nobody ever talks about the guys who did nothing after... as in most of them.

the other thing is Utd have TBH as many youths nas then in first team squad but they don't have legendary status. lingard and rashford are backed by a few others who look like mourinho will kill them all off by his chase for ever more expensive players

The truth is I doubt there will ever be a mega rich club bringing one or two kids in a season again like utd did. (the 4 didn't even debut all at once it was over 2/3 years)

Utd, city, arsenal, us.. theres so much money being thrown about that the only way to success is buy it.

Wasn't it the BBC the coined the phrase "the class of 92"?

It seems they aren't as thick as a lot of people like to make out, they managed to call the Uni after their moniker rather than Lancaster University who are putting in a wedge of dosh and the academic side of things.

How naughty of the BBC to show a tweet calling Couthinho a "ssslllaĆ aaagg".<laugh>

    Coutinho's long goodbye
#bbcfootball or text 81111 (UK only)

And while we're on Coutinho (16:54), he's reportedly back in Liverpool to say his goodbyes and plans to have a celebration with his former team-mates. How nice.

    Arsenal's ****e away form continues.

At what point will Wenger go All-in on the Europa gamble ala Klopp and Maureen in the last couple of years.

I reckon if they get a nice draw in the last16 and get through to the last 8,the top4 will a long shot by mid march.

Doesn't matter if they do, Arsenal have been poor in Europe for years. Even against 'lesser' European teams I wouldn't fancy their chances.

How many people still think we should be looking back at Spurs 5 points behind us rather than Man Utd 3 points ahead of us?
