I quite agree. I don't think anyone is advocating panic buying, but we absolutely need to strengthen the first team - not the squad.
It will be the first time that VVD has been useful to us this season, come on Les you know it makes sense...
Imo buying Promes at £30m will improve us more than buying two players at £20m that are only the same or slightly better than what we have. I can't think of anything better to spend the money on than Promes.
I think we may be using the “Alderweireld gambit”, that worked so well in bringing Toby to SMS,on a permanent deal.

Funny, I was just typing out the same thing. If we're hoping to win an argument over the technicalities of the contract of a player in Russia, we're going to be sorely disappointed.
As it happens, doing business in Russia is almost certainly not going to be straightforward.
