    We got paid massively over the odds for VVD, so what if we have to pay a little extra for a quality player that will improve us?.

    I quite agree. I don't think anyone is advocating panic buying, but we absolutely need to strengthen the first team - not the squad.

    Imo buying Promes at £30m will improve us more than buying two players at £20m that are only the same or slightly better than what we have. I can't think of anything better to spend the money on than Promes.

    Southampton have had a £25m bid for Spartak Moscow’s Dutch international Quincy Promes rejected.

    It is understood the Russians want £30m for the winger.
