Not sure that there'll be many loans brought in, not when most clubs will demand a loan fee and ask us to meet the majority of the loanees's wages, not sure it would make commercial sense to pay any sort of money for a 5 month deal.......... I'd rather take our chances giving the younger players such as Chair, Eze, Smthye, Bright, Manning, etc a go instead of paying out what is after all effectively dead money......... Tin Hat time.....
Not sure all loan deal would command fees. Could be some young hot prospects that the Prem sides want to see get some game time. You could argue that we should play our youngsters ahead of any other clubs youngsters though! Not much quality available in the striker department on a freebie either. I would like to see Eze get some more game time personally.
As much as new signings are required i simply want the powers that be to come out and speak the truth. I could fully accept that the looming FFP fine means we have both hands tied behind our back but they are still trying to work on some other options. I think the realistic Rangers fans will accept this and the kudos for the board that this brings could help the galvanise them which in turn may pass onto the playing staff.
Watford have just loaned Delefeou (or however you spell it) The lads on 75k a week and you can guarantee they will be paying a large % of that. Ridiculous sums of money
So Wheeler is out for the season, Sylla out for a few weeks. Wszolek is alledgedly injured too (or is that a smoke screen to cover the fact we have no offers for him!) However we seem to be after...Ojo from Scunthorpe https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/t...sfer-swoop-for-midfield-enforcer-the-verdict/ A midfield enforcer (what like Scowen?) And one for the future Aaron Eyoma's a winger (who can defender...is that a wing back?) from Arsenal....although unclear if it is a deal or on loan. Still no one who can score though...
Seems like my earlier post about Hugill from Preston can be filed under "Fake News" for the time being....... Preston hit back at 'wholly inaccurate reports' Earlier this morning (08:07), I linked to a story in The Sun which said that Crystal Palace had agreed an £8m fee with Preston for striker Jordan Hugill. The Championship side, though, have released a statement on the matter. The club said: "Despite wholly inaccurate reports in a national newspaper this morning, we have not agreed any transfer fee with any club for Jordan Hugill. "Jordan remains a contracted player to Preston North End Football Club."
Reading that Beth I got on to my Scunny supporting mate asking is he good, here is his reply "He's excellent great on the ball. Rumour is 3 championship clubs looking at him. He told me he loves scunthorpe and he never wants to leave. Keep your southern hands off."
According to a WLS injury update I posted on this thread an hour or so ago, Pawel is in full training again, Hall has recovered from his new knee injury (think he played for the U23's yesterday), Smyth and Sylla should both be out on the training field later this week, Smyth close to a return, Sylla out for 2 or 3 more weeks. Here it is again. " QPR say Idrissa Sylla is likely to be out for two or three weeks and that Paul Smyth is close to a return – and have confirmed David Wheeler is expected to miss the rest of the season. Striker Sylla has been struggling with a calf problem, while Smyth, who scored the winner against Cardiff on his debut, has since been nursing a thigh strain. Wheeler, meanwhile, recently underwent surgery on an ankle problem which has bothered him for some time. Rangers’ head physiotherapist Matt May told the club website: “David has had a problem with his right ankle. “There are some loose fragments which have come off the bone and he had surgery yesterday to tidy that up. “The recovery time for this is approximately three months so it will be touch-and-go whether he is able to play again this season, unfortunately. “Idrissa suffered a grade two calf strain in training. He is looking to be back out on the grass by the end of this week so should be available for selection in approximately two to three weeks’ time. “Paul had a minor right quad strain in training. He has been stepping up his functional rehab, and is looking to be back in training by the end of this week.” May added that Jamie Mackie is still several weeks away from recovering from a back injury, Pawel Wszolek is in full training after suffering concussion in a recent friendly, and that Grant Hall has overcome his latest knee trouble ""
I assume this is Smythe, in Oslo's report above. Paul had a minor right quad strain in training. He has been stepping up his functional rehab, and is looking to be back in training by the end of this week.” I had a completely unfair thought about Smythe/Holloway... I read that apparently Smythe hurt his thigh in the Cardiff match, but tried to keep it from the staff, as he thought he could play through it. I wondered if Ollie was giving him an extended time to rehabilitate the injury, as a sort of "punishment" for not being honest about his injury status. If so, please do not think I am really criticising Ollie over doing something like that to a youngster, it actually sounds a sensible lesson to be learnt.
Difference between the haves and have nots..... That one time working mans team Manchester City have now spent a staggering stg£215.5m on 4 defenders and a goalkeeper this season, and that doesn't include the what was it £40m that they spent on Stones.........talk about buying the league......
I always felt he was a gnats whisker away from a yellow or red with just about every challenge. Exciting but a bit scary.
When we have had money to spend it was wasted on the wrong players. Even now our strike force of non-goal scorers was signed off by SLF. The man is teflon-coated as far as the club are concerned. He is the route cause we are in trouble and he of all people should know how to spot a striker. We now have no money a strikers who can't score.
He received fairly resonable reviews when he did play for us, however he has a reputation of being a "limited player".
What is your obsession and continued put down with Ferdinand? How many times does it have to be said, He is not the cause of our current problems, they started way before his time with Warnock, Hughes, Redknapp spending money on has beens like money was going out of fashion. Ferdinand and Hoos are attempting to sort out the mess left by those......... Maybe some of the recent signings haven't worked, those signed by Hasslebaink, he was a good striker I seem to recall, either weren't as good as first thought, or didn't settle, some signed by Holloway haven't worked either, but seeing as none of them cost a huge sum of money they were a punt worth taking. I don't know what the answer is re our none scoring strikers, maybe start playing with a bit of width might help rather than punting the ball down a narrow channel hoping that the strikers can control the ball and create their own chances........whatever it is the fact they can't score isn't Ferdinand's fault......
Only good thing I can say about this deafening silence with just over 24 hrs to go is..... No one appears to be leaving......Robinson, Luongo, Smithies, Freeman....even Ned.... Mind you if any of them go now.....the words bare bones jump out at me... I am a glass full sort of person Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
