I don't think we need to worry - no groundwork will have been done for alternative targets so it would take Charnley at least a week to liase with Ashley, just to find out what derisory offer he would sanction being made for either.

I hope I'm wrong but think yesterday was probably game over.

I don't think they were ever selling either. They have let Musa and Ulloa go this window. They often play two up top. They need 4 strikers. Okazaki, Vardy, Ineanacho, Slimani. That is a good forward line at their level. Why weaken it?

Personally I think we should have had a look at Ulloa, I think he is quite useful.

What's the rush? Charnley has probably only just gotten out of bed. Enjoying life. Settling down for his usual breakfast...

As it stands the best result for this window would be Ben Arfa on a free and Mitrovic given a chance up front.

    <laugh>

I think realistically there's only Sandro left. With Tosun's move, he should be available on a loan-buy situation. Hopefully that happens as I think Rafa regards him quite highly so he'd be a decent option.

Michael Krmencik - Sounds like a non starter as they don't want to sell him until the summer
Kelechi Iheanacho/Slimani - I don't think Leicester can afford to let either go. If one goes its almost certain the other won't. Both difficult deals to do as they were 25m-27m purchases. They will want to recoup most of that.
Jorgensen - 20m sounds like a rip off. I can't see us paying that for someone with that record. They said it had to be done by Monday and it wasn't. Deal looks dead.
    Sturridge - Joined West Brom.

Unless there is a left field deal to be done like Boakye, Deeney etc I just can't see it. Our targets were pretty unrealistic by the looks of it with the exception of Sturridge who preferred another club/manager (which happens).

We have to hope Leicester are willing to release one of theirs and we are the best option. Sounds a long shot. Certainly if loan Mangala then that ends any hope of a loan from this country.

We look to be done really. Time to get behind the team and for Rafa to give Mitrovic his chance.

Leicester just let their other striker Musa go on loan to Russia so I can see them letting any of the other strikers leave now. Vardy, Okasaki, Ienacho, Slimani are what they have for the rest of the season now. Obviously Vardy and Shinji are the preference but I can't see them letting the others go now either. If we were going for any of them I'd want Okasaki.

I think the Leicester thing is a non-starter; getting rid of two strikers already should be enough to calm Iheanacho down and they're doing really well so want the firepower.

For us, I think at a push it's really just between Sandro and Davie Selke (allegedly we have one Bundesliga target, this was mentioned and he fits the brief).

Boakye was free just five months ago, so that's more likely just trying to cash in on a quick spurt of form, find it hard to believe a guy who's played at 7 different clubs in 6 years is the answer.

No chance of a No.10, unless Rafa fancies an unlikely punt on Ben Arfa on loan.

LB is sort of done. Think we'll move to 3 at the back regularly - maybe Mangala is looked at as an upgrade or Mbemba's being let go? Or maybe it's just bollocks, probs the latter.

Then there's the weird GK search. I think unless we have genuine class on the way, such as Kiko Casilla or Pepe Reina, just leave it alone. That Czech lad has a worse record and reputation by a mile than Matz Sels.....but weirdly I can see Joe Hart turning up.

I saw that Selke last summer for Germany U21 I think? He looked quite useful.

He does. Also looks like he's got a bit of arrogant confidence about him which good strikers need.

You'd have to spend serious money on Selke. He cost 8.5m last summer so they will want 25m plus probably as he is going great guns having looked at his record this year. Bit out of our league you would think.

Senior strikers who have moved this window to EPL or out to top flight teams:

    Theo Walcott
    Alexis Sanchez
    Jurgen Locidia
    Lenoard Ulloa
    Raul Uche
    Cenk Tosun
    Ahmad Musa
    Daniel Sturridge
    Guido Carillo
    Gerard Deulofeu
    Diafra Sakho

Bar Sanchez we really should have managed to bag one of this lot, some I don't know or know how good they are but Sturridge, Deulofeu, Walcott, Tosun would have been a big step up in quality.

We can't hope to compete with Everton right now. Deulofeu isn't a striker; Kenedy's more what we needed anyway. Sturridge, well, he made his choice let's just laugh when he gets injured Weds night.

We'll probably settle on Sandro, let's hope we a) do, and b) he's not as **** as he's looked so far!!
