Times reporting we're close to the loan signing of Sturridge. George Caulkin reporting it. Apparently he stalled on talking to Inter which put them off, so Rafa's jumped in there. Better than expected, tbh. If he can stay fit. Or rather, if he can be persuaded that he is actually fit enough to play most of the time.
I'd rather take him (if fit) than Jorgensen like. If it keeps us up we can hopefully use Amanda's millions in the summer to strengthen properly rather than some half cocked dane playing in **** league!
of course this could all be another part of the ploy.....on two fronts. The first to try and fob us all off that the club tried to bring in a striker in this window. The second to perhaps try and force Feyenoords hand and sell us Jorgensen for less than the £20m they want. Both will of course fail and Kenedy will be our only new face this month. Mitro will then be handed a reprieve, finish the season as our top scorer on 20 goals and be sold to the bin dippers in the summer for £80m.
Would be more than happy with Sturridge providing he's actually fit. He's got a good pedigree. We definitely fall in the 'beggars' rather than 'choosers' category and can't be too picky. Anyone we get in is going to be a roll of the dice.
If so needs to start Wednesday and Sunday but knowing Rafa will come on 77min after the other 2 miss 10 more sitters as per
Think he would be a good loan signing - would have to pray for the rest of the season he doesnt get injured and would love him in the mix for wednesday.
Can’t see this happening but he would keep us up. We create chances, despite our negative approach, we just don’t score enough.

Klopp has just been asked about Sturridge transfer in press conference: "A lot will happen in the transfer market in the next few days and we will see what happens here. If it was something that didn't help us or Daniel or another club to make the deal, it makes no sense."
just heard that Penfold is looking to make a double swoop for Messi and Neymar. £5m bids in for both.
Be a good signing but I just can't see it. Spend 4 months in Milan with a European giant, or 4 months in Newcastle, snowing/raining most of the time battling relegation.
I can see this happening. He gets game time (if fit) and builds up his fitness. We don't spunk £20 million on a duffer. We save or spend that money on another player. We pay his wages (say £120k) which is probably more than we would have paid for Jorgenson but not by much. We are not left with an expensive flop if we get relegated. Liverpool get a player back who has either played well and thus can resell on for more than now or keep him as he would be match fit. Sturridge gets to go to the World Cup. Its a good deal for us. If it goes through.
Players take time to adapt to a new country though. IF England is his aim he'd be better with the devil you know (EPL) and playing under the nose of Southgate.
He gets crocked in his first game, doesn't play again, we're back to having Joselu leading the line. Most risky deal of all time if this is supposed to save us from going down, we need the Dutch dude too.
