I am a great fan of TC but looking at facts and rumours if he leaves would we miss him. ? He is getting older and with this he seems to become more injury prone, and with a present mentioned price tag of 15/18m which would reduce with the passing of time,we could purchase one of the previously mentioned defenders + a goalscorer, who could serve us well into the future. He been a fantastic asset to us but if one believes what is said, and wants a move, I say cash in
Now this does worry me. After the game today Jokanovic told reporters - "I spoke with him yesterday, he's unhappy with this situation he has with the knee, I try force him but he wasn't available to work with us so I didn't bring him today. I had plan to bring him on bench but I expect he will be available for next game." Would hate if the Chris Martin history of almost exactly one year ago were to repeat itself.
It looks as though TC may be on the move,if as it has been said the players head has been turned and he wants out then its best to release him,a petulant unhappy player is no use to anyone. we could have the pick of the bunch with the monies received. Luke Freeman of QPR is in the frame, anyone know anything about him.
Looking at this from afar it would seem that there are a few positives here for the club. 1. He is possibly the best player in this division but there is no guarantee that he can make the step up - none at all. He may be merely average or a bit below in the Premiership. If we go up and have built a team around him then we would have trouble. 2. We should get about £15 million for him. This will fund a couple of good replacements. 3. He seems a bit susceptible to knee knack. Another Bullard, possibly? 4. If he does set the world on fire in the Premiership then we wouldn’t have been able to keep him anyway as bigger clubs would come calling so we would have lost him whatever. 5. You can afford to buy with potential in this league, you don’t have that luxury in the Premiership.
I don't think it's really a missed opportunity when Ulloa is going back to his old, now Premier League, club. Now if Aden Flint joins Aston Villa (as an example, not a rumour!), that would be a missed opportunity.
"Sky sources" are now saying that we've rejected an £18m bid for Tom Cairney from West Ham. Other stories say they're offering £20m for Everton's Schniederlin .. so pay your money and take your choice. Meanwhile, Sky are also saying that La Liga side Levante want Matt O'Riley on loan till the end of the season.
There's some weird rumours coming from Lyall Thomas (SSN & WestLondonSport) Ryan O'Donovan (GetWestLondon) reporters in the last few days on our young players, all of whom I thought were out injured Not only Matt O'Riley to Lavante (I thought he was injured in November), but George Williams to St.Johnstone (who I thought got injured vM'BoroU23 on 24th Jan), Stephen Humphrys loan to Scunthorpe I think, & that we want to put Edun out on loan. Also WE are looking to offload Soares who is on loan to us (when he is a Porto player !!!). Can't we just give him back. Either these reporters are not sourcing their news properly or they support one our rival teams and are mischievous.
Couldn't resist posting the latest rumour. please log in to view this image The Italian joined us on loan from Roma almost exactly 8 years ago and here he is, according to the stories, coming back on loan. This time from Watford. Certainly knows how to make a nuisance of himself in the box.
Okaha to fulham 2m loan deal, did not rate him much before, and has done little to impress in last 18months, surely we can set our sights higher than this.
Mention this one as much because a move to Sevilla has just fallen down. And why would we want a £4m right back in any event !!?? Anyway according to the Mail we're showing an interest in PSV Eindhoven's Joshua Brenet. Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...campaign=Feed: srn/mail (Sport | Mail Online)
Those reporters got it right, so far Stephen Humphrys has gone on loan to Rochdale George Williams has gone to St.Johnstone on loan Soares loan has been terminated.
Kind of off the beat, but might be relevant come Saturday. Ashkan Dejagah has signed for Forest. please log in to view this image
Sky reporting Aleksandar Mitrović is heading to us for a loan deal, very late attempt if you ask me. We'll see.
Well we kept the best, but for a club looking towards premiership football, next season a very poor foray into the market.
MITROVIC, CHRISTIE AND TARGETT Wouldn't say I'm jumping through hoops about these signings as I suspect the last minute signings were a bit of a panic after they both rejected moves elsewhere. I liked Christie when he was at Derby and it sounds like Boro fans are gutted with his sale, price has been said to be £3m, it will be interesting if Fredericks is now dropped due to not signing a new contract. Mitrovic seems to have a short temper and is easily provoked which could be problematic. I'm guessing he might be the target for certain Refs in this division. Targett is another loan player only who should be able to do a job in releasing Sessegnon to play more forward, but can't see him as long term, he'll want to impress but will want to go back to Southampton. I guess the better bonus is keeping hold of Sessegnon and we'll have to see how Cairney & Fredericks react to their transfer rumours coming to nothing.
It looks like we ended up doing some good and sensible deals in the last day, I'm pretty pleased. Waiting now on your assessments come the morning, sleep well 606'ers.
Blistering dip over the deadline and just as important was that we kept Cairney, Sessegnon and Fredericks despite those earlier stories from West Ham and others. So that's good. Jokanovic said right at the start he wanted 3 and he got 3. I think we all took it that two of those were a left back and a striker and the new guys (Targett and Mitrovic) therefore tick two of his boxes. As for the third, which most assumed was a centre back and arguably the most needed? Well, at 6' 2" Christie might just fill that position!? Mind you this still leaves the first team squad pretty thin; at 22 the smallest in the Championship and that includes 6 on loan. But a darn sight better than it was: Bettinelli, Button Fredericks, CHRISTIE Kalas, Ream, Djalo TARGETT, Odoi Cairney, McDonald, Norwood, Johansen, Cisse Sessegnon, Piazon, Ojo, Ayite, Kebano MITROVIC, Kamara, Fonte On the counter side 10 went out (5 senior players and 5 Academy). You can see the Gaffer's hand in the 5 senior guys who went: Madl - sold Sigurdsson - sold Graham - loan ended Soares - loan ended Mollo - contract terminated Makes sense to save on wages if he wasn't going to play them. And you can see Huw Jennings' hand in the Academy lot. Adebayo and Kait were clearly a move towards their development. Whereas the Williams and Humphrys loans were kind of 'last chance saloon'. Very doubtful that either will get new contracts in the summer and this gives them the opportunity to get first team games and attract new clubs, The one surprise is Kwietniewski being sold - apparently for £100k - but fairly sure there were personal reasons involved.
I'm pretty happy with the signings and the non movement of Cairney. One thing to note is that there really isn't the quality of player available in Jan if you can't spend £50m. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
