I remember when the boys were young, say U9 or U10; a tantalizing ball was played forward, our winger made a good effort to collect the pass but was not successful. The father yelled out, "Son, on a ball like that - you have to kill yourself trying to get to it!" --- I don't think your strikers were raised properly.
Anita is one of the highest paid players at Leeds and is a third string RB. This is how a recent performance was received by their fans: https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-fans-tear-fringe-player-performance-v-ipswich/
Clearly struggling, but he was very good for us at hat level so maybe not playing enough. We had him and Yedlin. Good championship full backs, both found out when they step up a level. Manquillo is just ****ing rancid though. He was ****e down the road so I'm not sure what we ere thinking.
If we had Anita we wouldn;t be doing any worse either. What was the point of letting him go to replace him with someone who is not as good?
Younger, spanish, cheaper wages, actual sell on value... And seriously, Anita was garbage, total garbage. He was destroyed in centre midfield because he wasn't technically good enough to outweigh his short stature, he was used at RB or LB as a desperate measure, and only had a string of half decent games in the championship, where Matt Ritchie charged about the field like a ****ing racehorse. I'd probably say Manquillo is at least on par. Lamenting Anita leaving, is like lamenting a bout of polio not being as **** as you thought it was going to be.
Mitro must have really pissed Rafa off. It's been glaringly obvious all season that we need someone who can kick the ball towards the goal with a modicum of force and he still can't get a kick. He must be proper gash in training if he doesn't look better than Gayle or Joselu.
Good point about being cup-tied but what about the 20+ games we've been woeful in this season. Harry Kane has scored more goals than NUFC.
In Rafa's defence, Mitrovic has been injured for the last 7 weeks and still wasn't fit to play today.
Mitro hasn't been injured, came out in the Serbian press Rafa is bullshitting on that front. Rafa came out after the game saying his head wasn't "focused" enough on the game. Again more BS, Mitro would have given us more than Gayle and Joselu combined with a point to prove but more lame excuses from the manager. Bored of slating Rafa now, but team selections, subs, tactics are all distinctly poor and I'm fed up. I mean FFS its a cup game why are we setting out to try and draw by playing 5 at the back? Lets actually try and play football and compete in games instead of just going out every week treating matches like a defensive training exercise. Next two league games are crucial which makes me worried as we need to win and that doesn't seem to be something we try to do until the last 30 mins of games when we are already losing.
I'll believe Rafa over the Serbian press thanks. Rafa doesn't need to pretend a player is injured. He has left people out before and said they need to train better, wait for their chance, etc, etc, but only with Mitrovic he apparently needs to lie about a made up injury? What a load of ****e. I don't know what the Serbian press have written but I imagine it will be a re-hash of Mitrovic saying he was top fit in an interview several weeks ago despite being injured at the time.
To be fair, today both of Chelsea’s two first half goals came on the break as we attacked them. Our attacking was toothless yes but they were trying to attack.
Maybe you'll believe the player in question then... https://www.themag.co.uk/2017/12/al...rbian-interview-hes-leaving-newcastle-united/ Why do so many on here hang on Rafa's every word? Delusion that he is the new messiah? The guy is a bang average manager I'm afraid to say, did he win the Championship or did Brighton choke? Has he inspired with his tactic's? Has he managed the squad well, bearing in mind this is a manager who continues to pick players like Manquillo, Joselu, Gayle etc? Has he ever gone to a club and over seen a massive turn around? Don't quote me Inter, Madrid, Chelsea as they had quality there long before he was there and if he had done well he wouldn't be at our club. There is a reason he's here and not coaching a top half team in Italy, Spain or England and no, its not family related.
Both goals came from Clark being out of position, another player Rafa seems to want to give 90 every week despite being a Championship player at best.
I'm with you, I actually dread the thought of a takeover materializing and him surviving to spunk 100 million up the wall.
