just read through the YEP report of this match with player ratings. I have to say that either the new set up isnt working or was it just a bad day at the office. The only players to take any credit as most only rated 4 or 5 were Shackelton & Sarkic with 7 who have been highly rated recently, and Jack Clarke who rated 6 because he did everything right as a striker but failed to score when he should have.

Lots of young players coming in from all around Europe and beyond. We have signed 2 CBs in the last week, we have plenty of strikers, plenty of midfield players plus we are trying to give first team players confidence by playing them too as we did with Grot in the last match. Why wasnt Grot playing yesterday as we need a striker with confidence?

When will all these players get some game time? How are they going to develop when they cant get a game. Either our U23s and development squad are for the improvement of the first team squad, or they are for making money. Yesterdays team had 1 of the recent new signings in Sam Dalby as a sub but rated 5.

We now have 25 U23 players plus those we have out on loan and remember we have players loaned to our sister club in Spain? We have a CB loaned out this week plus we have Hugo Diaz a CB, Paudie O'Conner a CB both played yesterday and rated 4, Oriel Rey another CB so I make that 7 center backs
    Kamil Miazek (GK)
    Aapo Halme (CB)
    Pascal Struijk (CB)
    Amadou Haidara (CB)
    Alejandro Machuca
    Ousama Siddiki
    Adrian Balbo
    Kun Temenuzhkov
    Sam Dalby

    We also have these
Leeds United offering a trial to prolific Swedish youth striker Ardian Berisha of Halmstads BK. The 30-goal Under-19 striker, along with 16-year-old goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist, has been at the club on trial since last Sunday according to 24 Halmstad.

morning doc it's very strange and someone appears to too much freedom with the clubs money.i can only think we will start to see a clear out come end of season.Malik has gone to Grimsby on loan and perhaps he will be sold on.
does anyone see the logic in this scattergun approach to recruitment ?.

It's all part of the calculated gamble approach. The more you get in the better the chance of finding one where you can make profit. Radz and co are just filling the supermarket shelves so to speak.

Will we be another Man City Chelsea etc where they have 50players out on loan? How many of these kids actually make it? Our original academy was the blueprint that the other clubs used to build theirs. But whereas we had a conveyor belt of talent (Think we had 23 players who were playing or had played top prem football) today kids are brought into the UK, housed and coached then farmed out on loan. Something isnt right

Morning all it seems a crazy way to run a development team. A bloated squad is not helpful to player or team the lads need plenty of game time and good coaching' You might find talent with an haphazard approach but you are more likely to miss it if you don't give them all a chance to show what they can do.

i think this approach just shows the amount of ambition for this season.this is all about the future and we have failed to make any progress as none of them make any impact at first team level.

If this is all about making money / profits on them, surely that can only happen if they make the first team. Don’t see how your value increases by being in a development squad?

Ridiculouse all these u23 signings, how much is this costing the club ? this money would surely have been better spent bolstering the first team squad, wouldn't mind if we had a David Batty etc coming through, but we aint, the U23,s by & large are cack,so personally i don't see our future with them,(if it is it's bloody well hidden) if the idea is for future financial gain then surely the riches of the premier league would provide that, for god,s sake radz stop buying kids & go out & get a Dembele who would in my opinion would make an instant impact for the positive on our season.

I personally don't think that their will be a better chance of auto's than this season,i was shocked that wolves were beaten at home by forest, just shows that people were right when they say anyone could beat anybody in this league.Even Derby will have their blip, and it just pains me that someone else (not us) will take advantage.

Will there be a culling at the end of the season I wonder as this is a bit of a joke. How many games do the U23s have in a season, how many of these can play for the U19s. Remember when the team gets back from Spain there are a few more players like Ousam Bhouy who are part of this huge squad. If you have 7 CBs when will they play, we have plenty of strikers but when will they play
