If he is as good as you all claim he is (This is not an argument I must add) then selling to someone like the Spammers will probably work out better for you in the long run. Stick a 25% sell on clause and if/when he gets sold to Spuds or Chelsea you get another payday, which would be more valuable than having him for another 15 matches
This is Norwich City FC we are talking about here !! Our sell on clause would be akin to "can we have our pen back please".
Pleased to hear that your foot has at long last stopped bleeding and hope the pain eases soon. Sorry KIO, but when JM IS sold, I'm with FML and we should hold out for £20M+.
Is Edwards on loan from Spurs? As I see it, we have four permanent signings this transfer window with one loaned back.
Here are the ins and outs: IN: Edwards (Loan) McLean > (Permanent, but loaned back) Hernandez (Permanent) Srbeny (Permanent) Leitner (Loan) Power (Permanent) OUT : Pritchard Jerome Naismith Loan Wildschut Loan Martin Loan Four permanent signings in, but one loaned back and one for the U23s. Two loans in, with Leitner a possible permanent deal in the summer if it works out. Two permanent sales out and three loans out but back in summer unless they turn into permanent deals. Though these deals happened separately I'd guess that the overall shape had been planned in advance. DF was spotted with Hernandez way back and possible striker deals were in the background all along. DF coached Leitner at Dortmund, so I suspect that was also planned ahead. With Maddison doing so well, Pritchard could be sold (and he wanted to go) for £11-12m plus £2m in add-ons. Jerome was also sold for £1.5m plus £.5m in add-ons. Those sales, plus the wages saved on all 5 players going out, provided enough money for all of the incoming players to move the restructuring on. Later installments will provide money for more restructuring in the summer, without having to sell first. Some of the overall profit may go into the general budget, but a large portion should be available for new players, given the emphasis on football needs being the first priority.
Great post Rick and EVEN the General has gone quiet IMO, great work by SW/DF and let's hope that we start to score more goals (or at least make the opposition keeper do some work)
Credit for getting the transfer business completed without the midnight end of month tension while seeming to balance the finances with football. Fans have a big part to play now in helping these young guns adapt and feel welcome. We can be quick to destroy confidence in a young player through frustration and impatience.
I remember Moritz Leitner being very highly rated 4-5 years ago at BD but then he seems to have dropped off a bit. Hopefully should still have plenty of talent though
I certainly think he's got something. As long as his attitude is right, and can adapt to English football.
Thanks FML and if he needs an interpreter ....... Ich kann Deutsch!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing at least some of our new signings in 18th Feb.
DF worked with Leitner at Dortmund, so hopefully they have a good base to start from. If it goes well, the loan could turn into a permanent. With his Bundesliga experience, Leitner could prove to be a brilliant signing. Hopefully the same will be the case with Hernandez and Srbeny!
Sorry, only gone quiet due to being snowed under at work and even more so at home. Good to hear FML' s foot is on the mend, great that we finally signed some players, though I would trade them all for Pritchard. Fingers crossed the newbies work out, they all sound potentially useful. Bah!
Well, someone is telling porkies, as DF said in his presser that they had NOT received any bids - https://westhamblog.co.uk/west-ham-offer-confirmed-guardian-fans-excited/ Edit - the WetSham bid may have come in after the presser!!
