Think you’re ok WJ, he had a blinder the previous game! Not sure why people assume a loan deal is the end of the road for players. Yes it’s an exit route for unwanted squad players like Murphy, but for younger players it’s about game time to get experience and see if they’re up to it...eg Charlie Taylor at Fleetwood.... and it’s harder for keepers to get experience. BPF and most other youngsters are desperate to get out of boy’s football and test themselves in men’s football. I’d say, if true, it’s a good sign he’s prepared to up sticks and have a go in Sweden, rather than pick up his salary counting the days down to the next u23s game.
Neither of them lay claim to the Yorkshire Rose. They can't, because we already have! There's a direct association between Leeds & the Rose IMO. Imagine a Jock getting emotional about the Yorkshire Rose, eh?
A few years ago I was talking to a solicitor who had done work over the years for the club, under Ridsdale, Krasner & Bates. He also did work for the council too, so knew that Leeds Utd were involved in discussions about the White Rose Center before it was built, and Leeds opened a store there too before the one on Boar Lane. Is the store still in the White Rose?
Looks like Malik Wilks is going out on loan again, as Carlisle are chasing him. So how do we compare our 19yo to the WBA 19yo Tyler Roberts. One went on Loan to accrington and scored 3 goals in 18 appearances he even got a 4 years contract. Roberts went out to Oxford last season and scored 4 in 17 then this season went to Walsall where hes scored 5 and a contrcat which ends in the summer. One worth over £4m according to club the other not worth half that even with a long term contract. The only other difference is that Roberts has kids Under 15,18& 19 appearances.
club have said they don't want the rose because it's Yorkshire not Leeds, is used as branding all over the place by companies, centres, clubs in football and other sports and therefore not a unique Leeds United identity ... this is why they thought the Leeds Salute was unique, no problem with that, just the design was poor ... I'd like the rose with the smiley in the middle, but can see the club not incorporating any of the old Leeds badges Leeds don't like the colour red!! Understand?
We'll never agree on that one, I'm afraid, Billy. Don't care where the Rose is used - as long as we use it! Being Yorkshire is a huge thing for the supporters. Huge! And I'm very much against the salute being used in the badge. The badge is a focal representation of the club, and the only reason we have a salute is to glorify the badge - i.e. the club. Having the salute on the badge means that we're using the badge to glorify the salute! Or saluting the salute, if you will. The salute is NOT the club, but a celebration of it. Well, I'm sorry, but I celebrate the club, not the salute.
"The Club Have Said" not the fans then, the fans have nothing to do with "The Club" Think this is the start of "The Club" saying well we have looked at the design and have decided to keep it Just shows they have not got a clue what it's like to be Leeds All Over. But does prove this is just a money making excersise. And I do not like people who tell lies. No way did this take 6months and from interviewing 10,000 fans We all know in market research if you ask the right question 99 times out of 100 you will get the answere you want. Just saying.
Leeds have £3.7m bid rejected for Moussa Dembélé please log in to view this image According to a Scottish journalist speaking on Radio Clyde, Leeds have had a £3.7m bid rejected for Celtic forward Moussa Dembélé. The striker was a big hit last year, scoring 32 goals in 49 appearances, including Champions League fixtures. However, he has only scored 8 goals this year. Brendan Rodgers has recently said that Dembélé is not for sale, but money talks and with his lack of form this year, there may be a deal to be done there. Before Celtic, Dembélé played for Fulham, scoring 17 goals in the 2015/16 season. He has an impressive CV considering he’s still only 21. With all the mess going on with Leeds and their failed new badge, this would be an excellent move and exactly what Leeds are looking for. Get it done, Victor.
On this day: Leeds United's Souleymane Doukara scored a wonder goal against Nottingham Forest Former Leeds United forward Souleymane Doukara is struggling in Turkey, one year after his wonder goal at Elland Road. please log in to view this image Exactly 12 months ago today, Souleymane Doukara scored perhaps the finest volley that the Leeds United fans have seen at Elland Road since Tony Yeboah in 1995. With 15 minutes to go in Leeds' visit of Nottingham Forest last season, Doukara, a £1.5 million signing in 2014, unleashed an unstoppable volley from outside the box to make it 2-0 and seal the points. Forest goalkeeper Stephen Henderson dived, but the velocity at which it was struck suggests that no goalkeeper in the world would have saved it. Despite that worldie, the French striker only managed six goals in 34 Championship games last season and the West Yorkshire club decided to release him from his contract back in August. Doukara swiftly joined Osmanlispor in Turkey but the 26-year-old is struggling to make an impact please log in to view this image Six months after making the move, Doukara has only managed to score twice in 14 top-flight games for the Turkish side, who sit 14th in the 18-team Super Lig, one point above the danger zone. His goalscoring stats are made even more unimpressive by the fact that he scored on his debut back in August, meaning he has only hit one goal in the six months since then - and none since October. Leeds fans saw the good, the bad and the ugly of Doukara (an alleged bite on Fernando Amorebieta springs to mind, earning him an eight-game ban) during his three-year stint at the Whites. But his rocket against Forest might be their abiding memory of him.
Just noticed that like Leeds, in the last 5 league outings Cardiff, Bristol City and Forest have won one, drawn one and lost three. We are not alone! I know, doesn't help much.
