In the Telegraph's pages, our concerns Les assuages
Says we'll have signings on stage
'Fore the Seagulls upstage us
For some it enrages; from the club it estranges
When paced like ice ages, deck chairs he rearranges
Still others regard him as some sort of magus
He's a sage and he'll change us
For the better! They exclaim thus
But in the end we all sit here, rattling our cages.

I do not have a future at open mic poetry night.
