Proper hero of mine was Mark E even though I was very late to The Fall.

Bought everything plus rarities and managed to see them live 4 times over the last 3 or so years.

    RIP

That maybe shouldn't be, but it feels like a shock.

Saw them in Wakefield in Oct or Nov, he was in a bad way, performed in a wheelchair.

Obviously knew he was very poorly and not getting better but you just sort of see him as someone who was always in a bad way and that was him. A shock he finally succumbed.

How much do you reckon he supped a day?

I always worked on the assumption that as long as Smudge was alive I was ok to drink as much as I wanted.

    I thought he’d live forever.

My old mate Charlie. Worked with him thirty years ago. He always used to tell me had Stuart Pearson as his apprentice when they were at Leccy Board.
It's weird he was the same age I am now but he smoked a pipe. The cab used to stink but I sat there eating my sandwiches. Different times.
    RIP Batman.
