Its left me feeling really inspired, and also rather upset about the **** the board gave him and his battles with illness etc.

But anyway, a few years back I was due to go on a charity trek in North Kenyan desert to raise money for McMillan cancer research but completely shattered a bone in my wrist (worked as a warehouse operative, had a fall on ladder due to some muppet fork lift driver <laugh>) two months before and alas couldnt go in time due to having plates and screws fitted. So now im itching to do something for the Bobby Robson Foundation and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to where I could maybe trek/climb? Got a fair few pals (5, hopefully 7 though) who did the previous trek and a they too want to do something for Bobby.

Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Nepal, Laos and Venezuela would be my first thoughts for both immense scenery and challenging trips. If you want something less 'out there' though, there's always places in the US or Europe like Yellowstone or the Alps or go for a classic A to B such as Brittany to Moscow or something.

I would do something like that, probably in the UK though.

I walked up a hill yesterday. Safe to say that excercise for 2011 is complete.

If your lookin for something UK based, maybe have a look at the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest 10km course, I am thinking of doing the Nottingham one. Nowhere near as challenging as climbing Kilimanjaro or whatever but something to do I guess.

Seems really unique in the way you get to visit so many cities and the like. Got that noted down, seems different.

A trek to the North Pole maybe? And if you do decide on it can you take Tash along with you for company?
