well, that ****ed my FF team, but hey, w/e, great result. from dead and buried to one result away from climbing out of the relegation places.
That was a huge 3 points, and a massive confidence boost. Apart from Firmino's header in the final few seconds, Swansea never looked like conceding. It was a truly magnificent organised showing from Carlos Carvalhal's side and that is going to worry a fair few teams in the bottom half of the table..................
Love CC’s analogies: “Liverpool is a top team, they are Formula 1, but if you put a Formula 1 car in London traffic at 4pm, it will not run very fast” "We are in hospital but we are not in emergency and we are breathing. We can have visitors now."
Firstly, well done Swansea, you stuck to your task and got the points, I'm gutted because i think we hàd the chances to win the game but wasted them and the Swans took their chance, possession and shots at goal mean nothing if you don't win, so stats are useless. Please don't waste the three points you earned tonight and survive the drop. On a different note, the respect and applause before the game was class, cheers lads. Also I hope the collection went well and was boosted for the poor lad that unfortunately passed away during his local league game.
Hopefully now that we are within touching distance, the owners back the manager a bit and get some signings in. Despite this win, we are still in desperate need of strengthening.
Fantastic team performance brilliant result loudest sustained atmosphere for a long time but it will mean nothing unless the manager is allowed to bring HIS players in , we'll see
That's because Swarbrick kept adding time! Did the necessary tonight - good crowd. Stats are meaningless i games like this Ki gave the all away loads, Fer was useless .. apparently. But the game was played in very tight space and everyone, on both sides, lost the ball to interceptions or misplaced but adventurous balls. My 10 penneth Fab - great shot stopping but still isn't communicating with his defenders enough Naughton - top game from him until he, like most, tired. MVdH - rock Fede - solid and organised the defence well Mawson - good game but he still gives me the heebie-jeebies when he starts playing football Olson - good until his hamstring started playing up Fer- got stuck in, good game Clucas - improved Ki - good game if a little frustrating. Ayew - my MoM ran himself into the ground as he has done for a few weeks Dyer- star man. Worked so hard and in him there were glimpses of how we used to play. Carroll and Wilf didn't do a lot but what they did was good. Not pretty but it worked and we did ask questions of them throughout the first half.
Just wait for the, 'If we can beat Liverpool we don't need to do much in January.' On the positive side - mate that result will make some of our reluctant targets give us a second look.
Jurgen Klopp has lost three Premier League games against Swansea, more than he has against any other opponent in the competition.
This has been coming since Carlos took over, He has improved the players belief in themselves and our football may not be pretty but it has started to get results....If Carlos can bring in 2 or 3 players im sure we will climb the table to safety and im sure the teams above us are a tad worried.....We won't win them all i know that but i have lots of confidence now that our fightback has begun...
