Turns out, if you put all of your best players on the pitch at the same time, you play much better. Who knew?!
Probably the best Saints home performance under MP2. We were lucky not to score just before the final whistle - Obafemi should have buried his chance. 1-1 was, upon reflection, probably a fair result but it was just nice to watch a game of football that was entertaining as opposed to being merely frustrating. More of the same, please. The most disappointing performer yesterday was the referee. I just wanted to add a comment that Poch's post-match comments about Saints not only demonstrated that he still has some affection for the Saints, but were the mark of a manager who is a gentleman. A marked contract from the kind of observation you would have probably got from some like Wenger.
This was actually meant to be tongue in cheek , perhaps I should have used a smiley ? as always , with the internet , things don't always come across as intended .
We have to remember how little game time Gabby has had and will need consistent game time to get his fitness and shooting range
Yeah, put it back. His sacking might seem odd, but he hasn't been pulling up any trees at Watford lately; had his head turned by Everton and took his eye right off the ball. I'm sure we need someone like that.
Well he didn’t do bad yesterday so maybe he will get a run. But what annoys me is that when the goalkeeper pumps the ball forward to him he is ALWAYS beaten to it by the defender. He’s not a Pelle or Rickie (neither is Long or Austin) which is what we are badly missing
Yes, I've wanted our goalkeeper/defence to switch to throwing/passing the ball out rather than hoof when Gabbys on the pitch. Mind you I'm just happy we now have a goalkeeper who occasionally catches the ball rather than doing tree impressions on his goal line, so one thing at a time
....... because Watford have a "trigger` happy owner, the Pozzo family, who also own Udinese where the tradition is to fire the coach after 3 or 4 successive defeats, and the requirement is at least 3 different coaches a season.
He has made positive comments about Saints before, spoken of his fondness for people at the club and was invited and attended an event here (can't remember what it was about). I agree he generally comes over well. In my mind Koeman has displaced him from my list of infamy....I can only dislike so many at one time.
