I didn't believe him. So many rumours flying around when People, clubs and agents know we have money. Walcott was a target it seems but he chose another club. Not the club's fault for that.

He's correct on the Walcott thing too. That's a last minute swerve of direction from him. He probably did his ankle as a result.

My guess would be wages, and the fact they're higher up the table then us.

Probably ambition, are Everton more ambitious than Saints.
Is that ceiling not allowing us to take that step further?

Once upon a time we had ambition but Ralph says not anymore. We're just a small club. We know our place.

I literally don’t understand the logic of your statement.

How on earth would you know the inner workings of his mind.

I’d be really pissed off to by not joining a severely relegation threatened team that would likely have paid me less money for a club that has a bigger history, more ambition and better players.

It was on assumption that he had agreed terms, and was happy move down here.. But Southampton didn't want to pay the fee after.

Obviously i don't know the workings of his mind, it's why i said 'If i'..

We went through all this not "speculating to accumulate" in the mid noughties and it ultimately cost us a place in the PL.
You can't gamble the future of the club by being cheap...We should be competing with Leicester style signings not Bournemouth.

Also, 'speculating to accumulate" was an enormous financial success. For all the talk of Cortese leading us on the road to perdition, the players he brought in/Reed and Mitchell brought in during that first post-Cortese window represented a massive profit for our owner, both on a year-to-year basis and when the club was sold.

We haven't gotten the same value for money since.

Except Leicester received on top of the TV money an additional £90m from getting as far as they did in Europe last year. They actually received more than the winner of the Champions League.
