No that's just the ones who would have been in profit had their seconds been winners. See earlier posts for all the runners (based on actual results). There are 33 entrants
I am not so sure Florida. I bet every week and I get paid every month. If I lost a grand in January it certainly would not mean that I wouldn't be having another bet all year!
My interpretation of the comp was a grand to last a year and try and show a profit. If you want to blow it all in two days that's up to you. Sometimes a bit of self restraint is in order. I wouldn't like to see fellow posters replicate this behaviour in real life. They would be in the poorhouse quick time.
Exactly once you've done your dough, you're out end of. That's the trouble in this country everyone's a winner even the losers.
As someone who is soon to be relegated I have to agree with Florida that "...when the money is gone, it's gone..." Stick - Bankroll management has to play a part in something like this (clearly not a skill I possess) and many of us have lumped early to try to build a bigger stack. That's the risk I take in punting half my stack on a Saturday. Doesn't matter whether the starting balance is £1k or £100k - we all knew the bank stood at £1k when the comp started so should have limited stakes to reflect this. If I were to blow my wad early, get relegated several times over the next few months and (by some miracle) had an unbelievable Oct/Nov, finishing the year showing the most profit after so many reloads it would be a hollow victory.
I agree with the rules chaps and maybe it might make a few people think.... It just isn't representative of what we do on a daily basis. Its akin to playing poker online but not for real money

The Rules allow for anyone who blows their £1,000 bank to continue having fun but, as it states they will no longer be in the Punter of the Year League. 1. It's no different to having another competition set up which is not open to those in the Punter of the Year League 2. Those who lose their £1,000 allocation have a choice of whether to continue or not 3. Remember Cyc's Leagues? If you lost all your money one week it was relegation, not expulsion. The difference here is you can't get promoted back again (ie you are out of the POTY League) 4. As I have hinted before, to some extent it is educational and may teach some how to bet with real money, or not. From my personal viewpoint it is simply fun because I never bet with real money (unless on a rare visit to a course when it is budgeted as an expense) I can't see how anyone can have any objections to the rules as they stand. It's a game and, until 31st January, it's open to anyone who wants to play according to the Rules, currently 33 entrants However, if it is preferred, I can scrap the relegation and set up another competition that isn't open to those in the POTY League. If I did that then maybe some in the POTY League would prefer to drop out and join the other League, with the loss carried over. As far as I am concerned it would be simply a matter of presentation
Sorry Ron I'm not having a pop at the comp. it's just an observation that some people might have a gambling problem even if it is virtual and was trying to point them in the right direction. I'm sorry up front if this offends anyone.
No problem FP. Best to get views aired. I think we have the same objective; just from different angles
If I remember my school math right, the angle of the dangle is inversely proportional to the heat of the meat, provided that the maxis of the axis, and the gravity of the cavity, remain constant.
Every horse I have put up so far I have had a bet on but in proportion of my pocket wealth, I'd be gutted if I picked out 5-6 winners and hadn't had a bet. I don't think I've ever put a winner up on the main daily thread though, think they've been in here or the Saturday comp. Strange that. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
