Robbo's been exceptional in the last two games, has Klopp found a wee gem for £8.5m at LB. Its early days but his defensive game seems solid, he provides plenty of options going forward and his right foot isn't too shabby either. Seems like the 'run through a brick wall' type,a tough Scot.
I know I agreed they're crap, but just like you won't solely blame Mignolet i won't solely blame the defence. It's a combinational **** up of the two worlds colliding.
it's always one of them... I think mentally they are so weak they all panic and lose it which is what wijnaldum alluded to. arsenals third goal was up to them all. but come on.. xhaka.. Sanchez.. both goals are down to really stupid errors individually. it's all just a big puzzle. slot in vvd. great but on his own he cannot stop people doing dumb things. slot in Robertson for moreno. grand.. let's see... mingolet is an issue. can in for henderson.. great till you see him stop and let sigurdsson off cos he can't be arsed. till the whole thing it's right it won't be right so as i said I don't get how anyone can think all we need do is replace mingolet and we will be all that.
The fact that this time 6 months ago people were screaming to sign a LB speaks volumes... LB's about 4th down the shopping list now!
Not sure anyone's saying it will solve all our problems It's just blatantly obvious for What We aspire to do our keepers aren't good enough. Simply a vital position that needs strengthening.
You're right, it is early days and he has to perform consistently - but he already looks way ahead of Moreno.
He's a trier. Plus he had the brain to know that slapping a few times into sterling would win him brownie pionts. He doesn't look strong but he was well able to push sterling about. First half he covered inside really well too. Tbh its not hard be ahead or Moreno. All you need do is not panic and brainfart
Maybe it's a jigsaw puzzle and it just needs one or two key pieces to make the picture come together. Maybe VvD's organisational skills will be enough to sort out the back enough to see us through. #ridiculouslyoptimistic
To what 4th? Look maybe Robertson is another. Maybe a new gk and no 6 are tge final bits.. maybe not. For me with gomez not learning the positioning, Moreno if he plays, lovren, either gk and add in Henderson's wandering or can going to sleep... well thats 4 or 5 disasters waiting to happen. Sooner or later one does something and it's down to the quality of opponent to take advantage. Vvd and Robertson might greatly improve things yes. I've long said a new goalie is needed and no 6. If we have calm heads in these areas and willingness from the rest to sprint back while thry deal with the exposed situation we leave them in we can go well. We sit too deep as well if under any pressure so we need that calmness and bravery to sit higher and keep playing.
Robbo is definitely now our first choice LB - until we get a world class one, and that's not a priority. Gomez is, er , okay at RB (he got caught twice against City though), but we'd all love to see him developing next to VVD in the long run. Sooner the better, and use TAA at RB for now, though he isn't a natural there either, if truth be told. But think of this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5276611/Man-United-lose-Juan-Mata-summer.html I'd give Mata, on a free, a nice contract if it were possible to get him in for free/cheap. He's as close to Ford, albeit a few years older, and there's a few seasons left him. TBH, rather that than £90m on Lemar.
Not content with a #chelseareject, Mata will soon be a #manutdreject too Good shout as a stop gap though
He's a good player - he's been shifted out of both clubs because they don't appreciate class. I think he could do the same job for us as Gary Mac did.
He'd have to run his contract right down and then run like **** out of Manchester if he came to us, but I'd love it to happen just for the pure meltdown and entertainment.
Tbh.... creative yes, versitile yes, quick no. Could he play cm.... doubtful. So as a cheap option ok great
