I'll be honest I'm unsure how true any of this has been, there's never been anything from the club or PCP throughout this whole "saga" it's all just "sources". Wait till something official is released

 

Lots of press speculating it is "brinkmanship" on Ashleys part but don't know.

I'm gonna cling to the hope that it is all still just a (admittedly now massive) decoy to stop people adding 0's on to the end of transfer fees for the new owners and it'll be announced tomorrow Sanchez has turned down Chelsea, Liverpool, ManU and City to sign for us and usher in our meteoric rise to the top to pip City to the title ala........City?!?!?

Highly unlikely. Far more likely (almost certain in fact) that they wanted to buy the club and couldn't/were unwilling to meet Ashley's valuation.

Why does BBC have an article speculating about whether the deal will go through this month ?

Has anyone quotable actually said the deal is off ?

Still not convinced we know the whole story. Why was Stalveys mate Desmond's papers putting out articles relating to an exclusive "increased offer" news under 24 hours before Mike pulls the plug?

Even with the NDA's the press have walked us through all of the takeover thus far citing "sources" I believed to be Keith Bishop and Richard Desmond, who have personal links to both parties, from either side. Certainly didn't happen with the Man City takeover - they were interested, they bought - none of this "our sources tell us" BS.

Turns out that the offer was £250m which was £100m under Ashleys valuation (and according to what I've seen he spent more than this purchasing the club and clearing debt to third parties), hasn't been increased to £300m as suggested before Christmas. As others have said if they were serious and full of money quibbling over £50m isn't what you'd expect as that buys you ONE decent EPL player now.

 

Aye but it isn't Ashley-esque to leak any info to the press that he doesn't want to. He's done this for a reason.

 

We don’t know if they are quibbling over it or not if we are an EPL team but the relegation doubts are what clouds the issue. I have never felt that any deal will go through until that issue is settled one way or another. Best hope for a takeover is probably if we stay up and also best price for Ashley so we need to support Rafa and the team and Ashley needs to fund transfers

 

****ing sick of it. How can football and people within get away with such blatant disregard for the people that keep it afloat? It's replacing the finance sector as my most loathed industry, it's utterly disgusting. How can these people who are more or less public servants and custodians get away with saying ****ing nothing, making **** up, lying, hiding, and doing everything except say exactly what the hell is going on?

Where's that ****ing spineless sack of ****, the FA, again? At least the government hold banks accountable and get answers for failure, make these people make statements and get the blame out. The FA? Living up to their name, doing sweet FA, letting these owners - and we're far from the most shat on either, just look at Blackburn, Bolton, Blackpool, Mackems and now looks like Swansea are being taken for mugs - just do whatever the fck they want? It's utterly shambolic.

For me, that's where protest groups should strike - the FA. Get them to fcking DO something.

 

If this PCP group had any real clout, the deal would be done by now. Staveley looks to be all fur coat and nothing underneath. So Ashely needs to stump up for a couple of decent players, and we plough on til the end of the season.
