Well, he's gonna look a bit silly coming traipsing back into training after that. Not to mention sitting on the bench next saturday (assuming KR doesn't want to change a winning line up). Actually, I couldn't give a monkey's about that though - I just want him to be sold after the Belgian divot has sold up. Not that I particularly want Homes sold, but if it's gonna happen, at least don't let Relegation Roland pocket a penny.
It's official- he's gone. So Roland gets his wedge. Presumably Konsa next. Hopefully Fosu will recover from injury on January 31st, otherwise he's out too. Aribo hasn't been linked with anyone yet to my knowledge, and no-one else is really a saleable asset, so once they are gone, or kept if no-one will buy, Roland will probably sell up. Hopefully Robinson has given up touting our players around for Roland, since his conversion.
“Undisclosed fee” - not a surprise if Murray was doing the deal. We probably got a set of training bibs and a bottle of Lucozade for him. The ITTV morons are currently claiming that he was “all stepovers” and “not Championship class anyway “
Honestly don’t think Murray can sink much lower. The Germans used to call people like him ‘the Useful Idiots’
Rubbish. POTY last year, granted been average last couple of months but still scored some great goals this year. Weakens us massively so
Huge loss, effect doubled because we are guaranteed not to replace him. Murray is lower than a snake’s anus.
Can't disagree with anything Holmes says if we're being honest. Was disappointing he ducked out of Bury but we won anyway, he won't get the chance to play in a higher league with us so think he's done best thing for his future, especially given his age.
Holmes was our best player. I would hope most Charlton fans will wish him well in the Championship, since the regime's failure to back Karl Robinson means Charlton will not now be promoted this season, and at 30 years old Holmes had no other option remaining to him. I'm not surprised some regime supporters would rather disrespect a good player than admit his sale is a real loss to the Club. We used to be the kind of Club Ricky Holmes would have been happy to play for at Championship level. But then came the Belgians with their crack-pot notion that a nice day out is more important than the quality of the football. Roland Duchatelet will be remembered forever at Charlton as nothing more than an a***hole.
Bye Ricky and good luck in your career in Sheffield - I'm sure you will be a great success and you deserve this shot at 'the big time'. Always enjoyed you playing for us, your undoubted skill, your 100% commitment to the cause and your wonderful goals. Sorry you were unable to have a go with us, but with our current owner, I fully understand your desire to leave.
So we turned down 600k in the summer, gave Holmes a long contract and then sold him for 400k. Take a bow Richard Murray. Excellent bit of negotiating. Consideting the money goes into RD's bank account I'd have given him to the Blades for free.
