Dunno about his distribution. The few times i've seen him his distribution is crap and nearly always gives away a bad kick to the opposition (hasn't been punished yet). Might have gotten better recently but not seen him too much. Agree with what you say though, he hasn't had a consistent run so maybe its a confidence issue but looked very average and error prone when i have watched him
Kane has more shots, but a lower efficiency rating than Salah, and they are almost identical in minutes per goal. (93 to 94). How exactly does this translate as Kane being more clinical?
Ffs. You would rather a 2 in 5 striker than a 1 in 2 striker. Which one is more clinical? Slap your own head ffs.
Kane's a greedy bastard and takes loads of long range pot shots. From the EPL site: Salahs stats Kane Basically Kane has missed 9 big chances (whatever that means) and Salah has missed 15. I bet you that anyone (except maybe pool fans) would back Kane to score a 1 on 1 rather than Salah. If that is the case then people would regard him as a better finisher (That doesn't mean people prefer kane over salah as a player, salah is very different and arguably better)
I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see the potential in him, and I think the distribution thing is a myth, tbh. I'm afraid that we'll jeopardise our season by giving him a longer run. We really need a top-class keeper to come into the first team and be up to the task from the off. We're just not in the position to nursemaid anyone.
that's what you are saying when you say you prefer Firmino over most strikers? You prefer someone who brings more to the game? You are looking at things too simplistically. Lets leave this here jenners as i don't think we're going anywhere edit: basically, i'd rather have a striker who doesn't score as much but gets more chances because they make great runs off the balls/can dribble past a team than a striker who is way more clinical but stands around like balotelli so doesn't get any chances
Yet Salah's shooting accuracy is better? Kane has had considerably more shots but only 2 more goals? You still want to go on with this?
Salah takes shots from better positions? It's clear that Salah has missed more sitters than Kane I think people can make their own minds up, no point flooding this place going back and forth
Some of these errors can be erased with game time. The issue we have is we concede goals due to different individuals but pundits keep pegging it on the keeper. Have the keepers made errors? Yes. Are all goals conceded their fault? No. The last two goals against city show how we struggle more to do with a personnel problem rather than a defense. Lovern and Milner are two of the culprits who are very guilty of diving in when all they need is stand their ground. This then brings about panic to the rest of the players. Those two goals would not be conceded if it's a true DM and a more calm CB. I expect less goals conceded if Can and VVD get a run of games. Henderson doesn't dive in but goes wondering in regions he should not be at while playing the holding role. This always leaves us exposed and the result is quality chances to the opposition. Because we have conceded 28 goals it's all Mignolet's/Karius fault.
What constitutes a "sitter" is subjective - we'd have to go through each one individually to decide (and then we'd disagree). The statistics I have quoted are not subjective, and are not partisan.
@BobbyD here are the only stats that matter: Liverpool 3rd (and climbing) Chelsea 4th (and falling) Liverpool form (last 6) = 1st (16 points) Chelsea form (last 6) = 4th (12 points) Salah: 24 goals and 9 assists in 30 games Morata: 12 goals and 4 assists in 30 games Liverpool goals for: 54 Chelsea goals for: 45 #rattled Oh, btw, Harry Kane has had 130 shots in the premier league, scoring 20 Salah has had 88, scoring 18 So HK gets a goal every 6.5 shots Salah gets a goal every 4.8 shots Salah is 26% more prolific than Harry Kane Next......
Definitely not. A lot of your goals are half down to the system (klopp likes to press in 3s and 4s, tbh i wish chelsea would do that) and a lack of a great DM shield like busquets etc for when you do press (you have highlighted Hendo here) and some of it individual errors (Gomez we're looking at you here, he'd be world class if he could just read the flight of a ball) What people are scared of imo about Mignolet and Karius is that they let is soft goals to frequently. In mingers case he can pull off worldy saves, but aerially he is weak (but better recently) and he's scared to come out or kick it quick. Karius on the other hand cannot pull off worldies as regularly, lets in even more soft goals (sanes one was soft) and from what i've seen his kicking isn't all that and he's not great aerially. One thing in Karius favour is that he hasn't had those games as you have said and he's still young. I don't blame people for saying i wouldn't count on him as you can normally tell which goalies are going to be special. He doesn't look like one of them
#meltdown I'm not comparing Chelsea and Liverpool, just discussing their finishing from what beliee/seen. However i'm willing to back up what i say, i think chelsea will have a better season that liverpool and i offered astro a charity which he hasn't accepted.
Karius’s distribution is better than Migs - it’s nowhere near as good as Reina etc. But the key thing is that his distribution is quicker - which is what we need from a Klopp keeper.
Interesting tweet from LFC Globe (who are usually very reliable: Understand Emre Can will not sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus. LFC will need to change stance on release clause, however. Both the club and Can’s representatives will continue discussions over the course of the season. Don’t expect anything official until May.
And herein lies the reason why he's promoted Karius. Truth is, both are very average keepers for a top 4 club.
