The way I see it he'd gain nothing by moving to QPR. They will in all likelihood be relegated, so he'll look for another club next summer. If he stays with us, his contract expires and he looks for another club.

    In our favor here:

    1) He won't be relegated with us, a season of comfortable mid-table is realistic and hopefully a good cup run. Same can't be said for QPR.
    2) If he stays with us he'll have more options regarding his move next summer as there will be no transfer fee. If he goes to QPR they'll want money for him which will deter potential new clubs as he'll also have high wages.

Moving to QPR would be madness.

No offence pal, but I'm not Sigmund Freud and I can tell you're pretty rattled.

  4. Yes mate, but you see the difference with Barton, Nolan was a passenger for many of his games.

It was just a coincidence that in the games Nolan didn't play in, we didn't win. We might aswell have played with 10 men at times when playing with Nolan.

Barton's creativity was always missed when he didn't play. You could tell.

If Nolan can go to West Ham. Then Joey can go to QPR.

New rich owners, give him a 5 year deal, £50k a week, the captaincy, Premier League football still. Makes sense. Especially for a player being pushed out the door by a fat man and his sidekick.

I hope I am totally wrong and he turns up on Twit land saying, 'Im not going anywhere.'

    Wait and see.

How childish. Luckily, it seems that there are some decent posters on here, who actually have manners, and are able to tolerate opinions which differ from their own.

You want an explanation? Barton is a thug, who has anger issues. He is a loose cannon who has exploded in our faces on too many occasions. See the Alonso tackle a couple of years ago, the spitting out of his dummy before the Leeds games, the multiple attacks on the club hierarchy over the summer in the public domain, the Gervinho incident for which he should have been sent off, the Pedersen punch, the list goes on and on. He is a talented footballer, but not worth the baggage. Case in point: he has been on the transfer list for, what, two weeks now? Where are all the 'big clubs' coming in for last season's "best performing English midfielder"? Why, seemingly, only QPR come in for him, if he is as good as some think, himself included?

He blows hot and cold in terms of his performances as well. His much vaunted passing range has been decidedly iffy at times last season and this.

To sum it up. Talented, if slightly inconsistent midfielder, but an out and out liability who is not worth the hassle of keeping.

    Better?

  10. Of course you know everyone hates me on here, because you speak for the entire board.

I apologized for insulting him, but i'm sick of seeing that stupid comment over and over again.

Stoke was it? or Villa? Joey was captain and was the worst player on the field. You can hardly call our leading goalscorer last season a passenger. Although with the improvements to the team I doubt Nolan would have played much this season anyway.

I'm sorry for saying everyone hated you, I was just trying to make you have a Tash-attack. Sorry but it's hilarious when you go off on one.

But yes, it was a blunt statement, but you could politely say "What makes you think that then?"

You haven't apologised to him directly, in fact your apology was a defensive manouver on your part.

  16. Yes, better.

But i disagree and i still think you're talking ****. Barton has improved himself vastly, and isn't a thug anymore. Too many occasions? In the last 3 seasons, he's done one violent thing, and made up for that with countless fantastic and hard working performances. He loves the fans and the fans love him.

He's more consistent than nearly every other player in the team, apart from perhaps Coloccini.

If we get rid of him like this we are in danger of losing our most creative player, and one of our most hard working and consistent ones.

Well done for going into detail, and please understand that i'm just sick of seeing little comments over and over saying "get rid, he's a liability to the club".

If Barton goes, we will definitely miss some of his quality deliveries and his aggression/work rate. However, taking into consideration his obvious flaws and Mr Ashley not wanting him here, if we manage to get Barnetta or similar.. I personally don't believe we will miss him (like Nolan). Barnetta is technically better than Barton and would no doubt carry less baggage.

See Tash, this is how adults answer posts that they don't agree with, but using polite rational logic to support their claims.

    You should try it sometime.
