Ron, my heart goes out to you mate. An interesting competition you would expect to be fairly straight forward. Some of the questions and requests you have received beggars belief!!!
Anyway, hats off to you fella. You must have the patience of a saint!!!
I'm sure everyone involved would like to give you a big hug and say a massive. THANK YOU.

On another note, I was back in Clatterbridge Cancer Clinic on Friday for the results of 4 weeks of radiotherapy and 10 weeks of aftermath for cancer of the larynx.
I'm delighted to say l got the all clear! <party><party><party><party><party><party>
Got to see a speech therapist on 31st, but much to the dismay of the Mrs, the voice is returning with a vengeance!!!

Seconded with regards to Ron <cheers>

Congrats on getting the all clear too!! My younger sister (she’s 34, I’m 36) was diagnosed with Cervical cancer in August 2016 with the outlook very bleak. After Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy she was given the all clear in July last year. She then began having seizures late November and we discovered the cancer had metastasised to her brain (5cm tumour but fortunately only the one tumour). Luckily it was operable and Dr’s at QE in Birmingham ‘debulked’ the entire tumour. She is now part of a clinical trial there where over the next 2 weeks they will be administering whole brain radiotherapy whereby the dosage is lowered in the area of the brain known as the Hippocampus (controls cognition, memory, recall etc.) so fingers crossed she will beat this too - she’s a real inspiration.

I will be running a half marathon in September this year and will be tapping you all up for a few quid for Jo’s Cervical Cancer trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham <cheers>

    Wow!
Puts my sore throat firmly in it's place!
She sounds like a real fighter mate, which augurs well in her fight.
Please send her my warmest regards and I wish her all the best for the future. An inspiration to us all.
Let me know when you are collecting donations for the cause. I'm hoping to be back at work around March/ April (been off since June) sowill be back on my feet and donate a few quid for the worthy cause.

Fingers crossed Drever. Wishing your sister all the best. Thank goodness treatment has made great strides and continues to do so. This new virus which is injected into the bloodstream and can recognise and attack the cancer cells sounds an exciting discovery. My mother had brain cancer but in those days, even the best brain surgeon wasn't enough.

Ouch, very unfortunate smokey. Sorry about the number of runners rule; 2 more runners and you would have got 1/4 the odds the 4th

It’s awful Ron. We had no idea until the seizures began. The removal was performed by Professor Cruickshank who has pioneered this kind of removal for the last 6/7 years. Fascinating videos of him on YouTube and people like him make me thankful for our NHS.

Mystery Bet. Just noticed I have a bet recorded for smokey in the 13.30 Kempton Saturday - Turban £50ew at 20/1. However I don't think that bet was posted. The other odd thing is that I don't have a result against it and I'm pretty sure I processed all Saturday bets.

    Possibilities
    (a) it was a bet from smokey and I missed this one when processing results
    (b) it wasn't a bet from smokey in which case, I either selected the wrong horse, or selected the wrong tipster

If anyone recalls posting a bet on Turban please let me know

Conversely, if anyone finds themselves a bet short let me know

For the time being I'll remove it (it was a losing bet)

    Thanks

I was pretty sure of that smokey, having looked back. I'll just have to wait and see if anyone has a query on one of their bets
