The emergence on Nunez means two things - Bates will accept any ffers over 3m for Gradel and anything around 5m for snodgrass and secondly whoever does go out of the two thn I will feel a bit better knwing we have a flair player like nunez and a regenerated Sam to have a good go at replacing them until January when the money received can be spent as well as welcoming Beccio and Somma back to the squad.

 

Im not convinced about Snoddy being sold...
As for Gradel whta do we believe..
Most of the time the press are full of **** and are lazy...
As i said yesterday if he wants to go lets sell hiom now take the 3m or 4m and hopefully that tight git will give larry at least 1.5m to bring in another player....
I like Sam and he is a good replacement...granted not a goalscorer but a provider and less waistful with the ball...Also not sure Nunez is a winger seems more of a AM.

But for christ sake lets not wiat till the 30th of this month to sell him.

 

I'm a Spurs fan but always had a soft spot for Leeds and always keep an eye out for their results and hope to see them back in the PL asap.

To do that you need to keep Gradel, Snodgrass etc unless a silly offer comes in.

£3million would be good money but will all of it be invested in the team or will it disappear in Bates backpocket?

I don't understand why people think the club is going to sell our best players. We've never done that under Bates apart from Delph but that was obviously different circumstances with us in League One. We've already rejected offers for Snoddy and Gradel, we rejected an offer for Beckford in January 2010.

Gradel will be here after the transfer window closes unless a ridiculous offer came in (and I'd be upset if that wasn't accepted) of say £5million +. I doubt he'll sign a new contract anyway.

 

I like Sam but he looked absolutely knackered last night and still seems reluctant to run at people, and we know from personal experience he can scare the **** out of defenders if he does that.

i think there are fitness issues with him for some reason.

I personally think nunez is better than gradel from what i've seen of him but thats another discussion.

Im just a little bit surprised that gradel came out with that comment. The media will try to stir **** up but they canot lieabout quotes so that must've been said by gradel surely?

 

from what I saw on SS News website and BBC sport website, he reckons 3 PL clubs are after him. Agree he's after the money, he is wasteful, loses his rag, misses penalties but....... when he gets his game head on he's a good kid.

Yep, he must have said that. Even if he was saying he could end up somewhere better than West Ham, it still strongly implies that he thinks his time at Leeds can be 'bettered'. Little cock. I used to think very highly of him. He should be kept though since we won't find anyone better for the money and I'd rather see Nunez in the middle than on the wing. 3m isn't great money to be honest, not when you know it'll disappear or be spent on a loanee/freebie winger.

I don't think we will sell him. This attitude of his is alarming though after all the stuff he was spouting before about how much he wanted a new contract here. If this quote's true and he thinks Leeds United are beneath him, he's not getting my support any more. He'll just be a mercenary player who I think we should force to play for us because he's very talented.

Bates is being interviewed at 13:00 and Gradel will be on the agenda so let's see if any light gets shed on this.

This. It was a Sun journo who confirmed Gradel's real quote, not the one where one media source twisted the original quote which got passed through a few other sources until it popped out of the other end as "did you hear that Gradel said -----".

Well as you said it's the Leeds supporting Sun writer who has seen the full quote.

 

Would it not make more sense for Gradel to wait for his contract to run out in January and then pocket the cash himself rather than Leeds get any money. We are not going to see any of it spent on a new player anyhow. I would prefer gradel to pocket some extra cash rather that old c**t Bates getting any more money for his retirement fund.

Just remember as well that Gradel has not even being offered a contract by Leeds and that emerging players like Clayton and Nunez also have less than a year to go on their contracts as well. We should be tying these guys up on contracts and that would be a sign that we at least have a little ambition. Bates is a ****ing dinasour in today's football world.
